Now that we have our Room Data Sheet Title Block in our Room Tag, we're ready to go ahead and create the Room Data Sheets.
00:09
So creating the Room Data Sheets manually can be done, but it's a really tedious process.
00:15
So, we're going to go through it once, and then I'm going to show you some tools that you can use to automate the process significantly.
00:21
So, to get started, I'm going to go to a Ground Floor Plan.
00:26
Inside my Floor Plan, I'm going to create an enlarged view around one of the rooms.
00:32
Just going to choose this room right here.
00:37
I'm going to select that.
00:38
Once I create the view, I'm going to activate the view.
00:41
And there's some stuff I want to hide, this element right here because we don't want to see that in a Room Data Sheet.
00:47
And next, I'm going to apply a View Template.
00:50
Now, I created a View Template specifically for Room Data Sheets, and I called it RDS Enlarged Plan.
00:57
Basically, all that I did is I just changed the scale of it because I know I want to show my room plans as a 0.25 inch.
01:04
So, I set the View Scale here.
01:06
But having a View Templates specifically for the Room Data Sheets is helpful,
01:11
because I can make some changes and it can update my Room Data Sheets in one go.
01:15
So, I'm going to apply that to this view here.
01:18
So, our plan looks good.
01:19
I'm going to go up to the "Architecture" ribbon, and then I'm going to choose "Tag Room".
01:27
And I'm going to set my Room Tag to our RDS Room Tag that we created, and I'm going to place it in the view.
01:36
Now, I can't see the Room Tag right now because my Annotation Crop is turned on, so I'm going to turn that off for the room.
01:44
And now I can actually see my Room Tag.
01:47
And again, it's located outside of the room,
01:50
but it's still associated to it because the Room Tag insertion point is inside the room boundaries.
01:56
So, what I can see now is I could see my Room Number and Room Name.
01:60
There's some additional room data. Here's the Area, the Level.
02:04
We don't have any Program data in here yet and we don't have any Equipment Data.
02:08
So I'm going to click on my Room Object, and then I can add my Program Area.
02:14
Let's say it's 150 square feet.
02:16
Program Comments, I'm going to say Exam Room Equipment.
02:26
And for 240 volts, I'm going to uncheck that. So, now I can see that information as part of my Room Tag.
02:34
So, that's good. Here's our first Enlarged Floor Plan for our rooms.
02:38
So, I'm going to go up here and I'm actually going to rename the view just so it's a little bit easier to find.
02:43
I'm going to call it RDS 1104 Exam.
02:50
Next, I'm going to go down and I'm going to create a sheet for this view.
02:54
So, under Sheets, I'm going to right click and Create a New Sheet.
02:58
I'm going to choose my RDS Title Block, click "OK".
03:03
And I'm going to rename and re number this to match our room.
03:08
So, our Room Number, let's say this is going to be our number 1, sorry, Sheet number 1 or Page number 1.
03:14
And I'm going to call this 1104 - Exam.
03:19
So, here is our Room Name here. Here's our Page number.
03:22
Then here's all of our other additional information that we added to the Title Block.
03:28
Next, I'm going to go up to our Enlarged View, and I'm going to just add it to the Sheet.
03:37
So, you'll see that the view is coming on with a view title.
03:41
So, I'm going to change the Viewport to be No Title, so that disappears.
03:46
And then here is our Enlarged Floor Plan and our room data.
03:50
So, a couple things I might want to do, I'm going to activate the view
03:54
and I'm going to set the crop region to be Hidden, so we don't see that, and then I'm going to deactivate the view.
04:02
So, that's it. I've actually created one of the Room Data Sheets.
04:06
So, again, it's not too bad.
04:08
It only took a few minutes to do each one, but it would be a really tedious process to do this for all of the rooms.
04:14
Now it's your turn.
04:16
Create room floor plans for 10 to 15 rooms in the project, then go ahead and generate Room Data Sheets for the rooms.
04:23
Make sure you use a consistent naming convention for the Sheets and Views.
04:27
And don't forget to add the Room Data Sheet Room Tag.
