PRESENTER: We will begin by logging into our BIM 360
00:06
account, and then navigating to the nine dots that
00:14
are in the upper left of our corner,
00:15
to look at the other modules that are available to us.
00:19
But you'll see that we are going to default here
00:21
into the Document Management module.
00:26
And double-clicking on that will select the module,
00:28
if you're not currently in the Document Management module.
00:31
Now, you will see that there's a Plans folder
00:34
and a Projects folder available here.
00:37
And what we're going to do is we're
00:38
going to upload our files into the Plans folders.
00:44
But before we do that, we're going
00:46
to go ahead and create some project
00:49
folders that we will use later in another one
00:52
of our exercises.
00:54
So what you're seeing here is this
00:55
is where we can actually store project content.
00:59
In our Plan folders, we're going to upload the PDFs that we
01:02
created from our project.
01:05
You could see us here selecting the ConnectedLearningWay.pdf,
01:10
selecting OK, to allow the file to process.
01:13
Now, at the moment, we do not have a template to choose from,
01:17
so we will go ahead and select Continue to allow
01:20
BIM 360 to upload the document.
01:23
Once the document is uploaded into BIM 360,
01:26
we will have the opportunity to define
01:29
the area inside the title block that we would
01:32
like BIM 360 to extract the information from for our sheet
01:37
sets.
01:39
And so you can see here, we're taking a crop of the area
01:44
that we're interested in in BIM 360.
01:51
Now, we're going to pan down in our title block area here
01:55
to get to where the information that we're trying to extract
01:58
is located.
01:59
Now, the name of your template and the number from the sheet
02:04
is required information.
02:06
Your title information is optional.
02:09
And you're seeing that we're cropping out the area where
02:12
the number will be located.
02:13
And make sure that you get a big enough area so,
02:16
if the numbers grow, you'll have that ability
02:19
to gather that information as well.
02:24
And now, you can see that BIM 360
02:26
is extracting the information from your title block.
02:30
And you're given the opportunity to correct any information that
02:33
was not extracted correctly.
02:35
And now, we're publishing those sheets.
02:40
Once the sheets are published, we're
02:42
going to have the opportunity to open them up and do
02:45
some reviews of the information that we published up
02:48
into our Plans folders in BIM 360.
02:55
And so you can see our title block here.
02:57
You can see the information coming from our sheet set.
03:01
And now, the next step will be, take a peek
03:03
at what the versioning looks like.
03:06
And so what we'll do is we'll go ahead and exit that sheet,
03:09
and then upload another file set.
03:12
You'll have the [? rev1 ?] file folder,
03:16
and it will contain another ConnectedLearningWay.pdf.
03:20
And we will say, OK.
03:21
But this time, select the template, ConnectedLearning,
03:25
to allow BIM 360 to extract the information from our title
03:30
block.
03:31
Now, since we are using the same name for the title block
03:36
PDF set that we're importing, it will
03:38
overwrite the information that is in BIM 360
03:43
and allow us to start creating our versioning.
03:49
And while the information is being overwritten in BIM 360,
03:52
it's not being lost.
03:53
Like I said, we are capturing the version,
03:56
so we can revert back as necessary.
04:08
Now, we will choose the icon at the bottom of our screen
04:11
to give us the option to compare the two versions of the drawing
04:15
that we have.
04:16
You see version
04:18
and version 1 was on the right.
04:20
And you can assign colors to these versionings,
04:23
if we are using the overlay methodology.
04:26
Everything that is in not in version 2
04:28
is showing up as blue.
04:30
Everything that is not in version 1 was showing up red.
04:34
Or we can use the overlay method,
04:37
and the slider bar appears.
04:39
And we're given the option to slide
04:41
back and forth in our sheets.
04:46
Last, we'll move over to our file manager explorer window
04:51
and navigate to the BIM 360 directory
04:54
to see the folders that have been copied down
04:56
to our local drives.
