It all comes down to this. We can now actually coordinate our buildings with a civil engineer.
00:17
BIM 360 allows us to do that.
00:19
With the BIM 360 project all set up, we can now actually link Civil 3D TIN surfaces into Revit.
00:26
Basically, what happens is, when we export a surface from Civil 3D,
00:30
the BIM 360 interface will create Revit Topo surfaces for each TIN surface we choose.
00:38
Let's jump into Civil 3D.
00:40
I'm going to open my XSITE Next 5 model.
00:47
Let's go to the Output tab.
00:50
On the Output tab, on the Publish panel, let's click Publish Surfaces.
01:00
Here are all the different TIN surfaces we have.
01:04
We can also pick from the drawing which one we want.
01:07
I like them all.
01:09
What we need to do now is specify the output file.
01:12
Let's just click on the Browse button.
01:16
Now, you should see two BIM 360 directories.
01:20
If you don't, you need to install the Autodesk Desktop Connector, and it has to be the current version.
01:26
Just go to autodesk.com or Google Autodesk Desktop Connector.
01:33
I'm going to go to BIM 360.
01:37
I'm going to go to My Account, CNS Companies.
01:47
And we'll go to Autodesk Mixed Use Community.
01:52
Project Files, Site Civil, remember that.
01:58
Put it right here.
01:60
So I'm just going to simply call this Site Topo.dwg.
02:11
Let's click Save.
02:15
Let's click OK.
02:21
The surface being published uses a style that will produce inaccurate results in other applications.
02:27
All they're saying is they need to update the surface style, but that's fine.
02:31
That's exactly what we want.
02:33
We want to publish the surface with the updated style.
02:39
It's done.
02:40
Now, I can't go there and show you this automatically.
02:43
It takes a little while, sometimes up to a few hours.
02:46
So, now that we've published it, we can see that. Eventually, we can go bring that into Revit.
