Okay, so we have some coordinates and we have state plane information.
00:10
But we have more cleanup to do before we admit publicly that we're ready to start distributing this information.
00:16
The first thing I want to do is go into Revit. I'm going to open my SITE_CIVIL model that I had created previously.
00:26
There's that warning. It's not going to go away until we deal with it, no matter how much we wish it would.
00:31
Click OK. You'll notice it takes a while to open, too. Now we can deal with the AutoCAD.
00:37
Let's jump into Civil 3D. Let's open our XSITE - Next 5 drawing.
00:44
I want to W block the information that I need, not everything.
00:49
Because if you double click your wheel button, look what's happening here. That might be acceptable in AutoCAD, but it ain't in Revit.
00:58
I'm going to undo that zoom extents. I'm going to type W and hit Enter.
01:04
This is our write block command. Now for a base point, leave it alone. Keep it at zero, zero.
01:12
For objects, I want to Select Objects.
01:16
Now I want to pick a box, starting from the left to the right, that way I don't inadvertently select a bunch of stuff I don't want to.
01:25
Point here. I'm going to scroll down to about here. It's going to kind of highlight what I want to see.
01:32
That's more than enough information that I need. Let's pick this point here.
01:38
Now that we've selected everything, hit Enter.
01:43
I'm going to retain the objects. I don't want to butcher this one too bad, but I do want to make a new file.
01:49
By doing that, under Destination, Filename and Path, click the Browse icon.
01:55
Scroll to your project. Go to your Site Civil folder.
02:00
Go to AutoCAD. I'm going to call it, all caps, SITE_CIVIL.
02:10
It's a standard, I guess. Click Save. That's a lot of objects, still. Insert units.
02:17
We could keep it at feet, but if we go to Unit List, we have more control over it in Revit.
02:24
Click OK.
02:27
Include AutoCAD Map Information?
02:30
I don't even know what that is, so I'm going to say No. We don't need any more extra garbage.
02:37
Let's jump back into Revit.
02:40
In our project browser, right click on Revit links and let's go to manage links go to CAD formats...
02:51
XSITE - Next 5 you sir are evicted.
02:55
Select it click remove, bye bye I do not want to see you anymore.
03:03
Click OK zoom into this area here.
03:07
Now let's go to the insert tab. On the link panel, let's click link CAD.
03:15
Site Civil. Let's go to AutoCAD. Grab our clean Site Civil drawing.
03:23
Colors Preserve. There's Levels All. Feet.
03:28
Uncheck Orient to View. Positioning will be by Shared Coordinates.
03:34
Click Open. Bingo. And it's going to drop right in. Awesome. One more thing I want to do.
03:42
In the AutoCAD world, we're going to have a bunch of lines that are at zero feet.
03:47
We're going to have 3D lines that are at the elevation we want.
03:50
We will have to physically move our Civil 3D to be kind of in the right spot.
03:56
So, I'd like to go to my south elevation just by double clicking on this elevation marker.
04:03
See what I mean?
04:05
First of all though, let's come down to here.
04:08
Level 1, Level 2, it is still at 0 feet which is kind of interesting.
04:12
Select Level 1. Click Edit Type.
04:16
For Constraints, Elevation, Base, it is coming off the project base point.
04:21
It seems like that should be that 5388,
04:24
but check it out, when we change this to Survey Point, and click Apply, click OK, that is 5388.
04:32
But look how high 5388 is. This is the 3D stuff. This is the 2D stuff.
04:39
So I'm going to hit escape a couple times. I'm going to pick somewhere along my CAD and just select it.
04:49
You should have modify site civil.dwg selected.
04:54
I'm going to simply click move.
04:57
Pick a base point along your level 1.
05:03
Go straight down. 5388, hit Enter...
05:12
Hit Escape a couple of times,
05:15
now the actual 3D portion of the site is at 5388, now the CAD shrapnel is down at 0,
05:24
go to your site plan in your project browser, I'm going to close out of my south elevation, let's save our model,
05:31
I'm going to do one more thing though, let's close out of it, let's open it back up, No whammies, no whammies.
05:37
I always say that. Perfect. This is a clean model.
