RUSS NICLOY: Now as it stands, this
00:17
is information that came from InfraWorks.
00:20
I'm going to return to InfraWorks
00:22
because as I was doing that, our road and bridge designers were
00:26
looking at the roadway here.
00:28
I want to do something a little bit away from our bridge.
00:31
And first of all, we realized that there was no curve here,
00:34
so I'm going to add a curve in.
00:38
I'll give it a length.
00:40
And they decided-- we need to reposition
00:43
this roadway a little bit, so I'm
00:44
going to shift that over a little bit closer to the hill.
00:48
We're going to cut into the hill a little bit
00:50
to put this roadway in.
00:52
I am also going to left click to rebuild that portion of it.
00:58
I am also going to come over to the bridge area
01:02
here and wait for the bridge to rebuild itself there.
01:11
I did notice that the bridge pier here is not quite
01:15
where I want it to be yet, even though I
01:16
went into that spreadsheet.
01:19
So I'm going to spread that out just a little bit more
01:21
and left click and drop that in.
01:24
I will then go up to the Present and Share tab again
01:27
to share this out.
01:28
I'll share with the Export to IMX.
01:31
And in here, I'll go to the Start
01:33
with Recent Export at the very top.
01:35
I'll click the dropdown.
01:36
And there, you will see the file that we exported earlier.
01:39
When I left click that, all of the settings that I chose
01:42
will be placed in the dialog box.
01:45
I can hit Export and replace the original file
01:48
that we were working with.
01:50
And again, this will take a little while
01:51
because it has to recalculate all of that information
01:54
as it exports and writes that file.
01:57
And when that's done exporting, I'm
01:58
going to shift back over to Civil 3D.
02:01
And in here, I'm going to look at the change to the bridge
02:03
first.
02:05
You can see the piers, there's a pier foot here.
02:09
I know there's a lot of things going on here,
02:11
but you can see it if you focus on it.
02:14
There's the pier right there.
02:15
This piers is the one that I just shifted.
02:18
I'm going to come up to show changes from InfraWorks
02:22
to the bridge model itself, not to the roadway
02:25
but to the bridge model itself.
02:26
I'm going to go to the Insert tab of the ribbon in Civil 3D,
02:30
the InfraWorks Panel, the panel pull down,
02:32
and choose the Manage InfraWorks Data Sets.
02:37
I'll click on that.
02:38
And in here, it lists that file out, the IMX file that we used.
02:42
It's letting us know that the status is unknown
02:45
and where the saved path is.
02:46
I'm going to checkmark that, and that opens up
02:49
the reload option.
02:50
I'll click reload.
02:53
Now, watch this piers right here shift over.
02:56
It has now updated the bridge design portion of this.
03:06
Now, I'm going to zoom and pan over to our roadway over here.
03:15
For this, I'm going to go to the InfraWorks tab, Import IMX.
03:20
I'm just going to re-import that IMX file and open that up.
03:29
And it does bring all of the IMX file in again.
03:32
I am going to, again, select the roadway--
03:36
the waterway.
03:36
I'll right click Select Similar, and delete that, and Zoom in.
03:42
So it did bring that roadway in with that curve.
03:45
Now unfortunately, it is bringing a second version
03:48
of that corridor in.
03:49
And we want the original one to work with.
03:51
So I'll select on the new one and delete that out so
03:55
that we can work on the corridor as it moves through this area
03:59
here.
