Adding Rebar (5:09)

With our cover in place, we can now

start adding reinforcing to a wall.

The purpose of this video is to cut a wall section

and manually start placing reinforcing.

In my lower level structural plan,

I want to make sure that we're in this section

or of course, if you're using your own model, that's

fine too.

Just go to any section you have through some concrete.

Now, as I mentioned a typical concrete section is going

to be 1/2 inch equals a foot.

And right now, I do have my detail level set for fine.

We're going to be changing that back and forth as we look

at aesthetics and how we should be showing Rebar

but right now, I want to keep it on fine.

Go ahead and select the wall.

Now, on the reinforcement panel, let's click the Rebar button.

We get our Rebar shaped browser that shows up here.

We also see the same item mimicked over here.

If you click your little three dark button,

it turns it on or off.

On these Rebar shaped double 0, double zero.

Now what I want to do is, make sure

that our placement is set for parallel

Notice that we can't go past our cutter setting.

So I want to pick a spot right here.

I don't show Rebar like that but that's OK,

we're going to look at a Rebar settings.

Now, what I want to do is add some horizontal bars.

Go and select your wall.

Click on Rebar again.

Let's use the same Rebar shape but this time

for our placement, let's go perpendicular to cover.

The problem is I'm not sure which way this is going to go.

So what I want to do is, once we start placing it

for layout rule instead of single.

Let's go to maximum spacing.

And for spacing-- let's go one foot.

Now, what we'll see is as we move our cursor around

and we get to the middle, it's going to go horizontal,

Now, we set our spacing and it conformed

And let's make sure that our layout instead of single, we're

Now, notice that our Rebar bar is a number 4.

we can ignore those settings but if we're not placing it
