With our cover in place, we can now
00:08
start adding reinforcing to a wall.
00:11
The purpose of this video is to cut a wall section
00:14
and manually start placing reinforcing.
00:17
In my lower level structural plan,
00:19
I want to make sure that we're in this section
00:22
or of course, if you're using your own model, that's
00:24
fine too.
00:25
Just go to any section you have through some concrete.
00:29
Now, as I mentioned a typical concrete section is going
00:33
to be 1/2 inch equals a foot.
00:36
And right now, I do have my detail level set for fine.
00:39
We're going to be changing that back and forth as we look
00:42
at aesthetics and how we should be showing Rebar
00:44
but right now, I want to keep it on fine.
00:48
Go ahead and select the wall.
00:53
Now, on the reinforcement panel, let's click the Rebar button.
00:59
We get our Rebar shaped browser that shows up here.
01:02
We also see the same item mimicked over here.
01:07
If you click your little three dark button,
01:09
it turns it on or off.
01:12
On these Rebar shaped double 0, double zero.
01:18
Now what I want to do is, make sure
01:20
that our placement is set for parallel
01:22
to workplan right here.
01:28
Notice that we can't go past our cutter setting.
01:33
So I want to pick a spot right here.
01:36
I'm going to pick a point right here.
01:40
Hit Escape a couple of times.
01:43
I don't show Rebar like that but that's OK,
01:45
we're going to look at a Rebar settings.
01:47
Now, what I want to do is add some horizontal bars.
01:50
Go and select your wall.
01:55
Click on Rebar again.
01:59
Let's use the same Rebar shape but this time
02:02
for our placement, let's go perpendicular to cover.
02:09
Now it's just a little dot.
02:10
The problem is I'm not sure which way this is going to go.
02:14
So what I want to do is, once we start placing it
02:17
in our properties, let's scroll down
02:19
for layout rule instead of single.
02:22
Click the dropdown.
02:23
Let's go to maximum spacing.
02:27
And for spacing-- let's go one foot.
02:33
All right.
02:34
Now, what we'll see is as we move our cursor around
02:37
and we get to the middle, it's going to go horizontal,
02:40
if we come to this spot, it's going to go vertical.
02:43
So I'm just going to pick a spot right here.
02:46
I'll come over and I'll pick a spot right here.
02:53
Hit Escape a couple of times.
02:54
Now, we set our spacing and it conformed
02:58
to our cover settings.
03:00
Go ahead and tab onto this Rebar.
03:03
Select it.
03:06
Tab onto this Rebar, hold on your Control key
03:09
and select that.
03:11
And let's make sure that our layout instead of single, we're
03:14
going to go maximum spacing.
03:17
The spacing is going to be one foot.
03:23
Perfect.
03:25
Hit Escape a couple of times.
03:28
Let's add some dowels now.
03:29
So go ahead and select your wall again.
03:31
Click on Rebar.
03:36
This time I want to go to sketch Rebar.
03:40
I'm going to select my column.
03:43
Now, I'm going to pick a point right above here.
03:48
They come down over here.
03:52
I'm going to dowel that over to here.
03:56
Hit Escape a couple of times.
03:59
Now, notice that our Rebar bar is a number 4.
04:03
We had to pull down and notice that we
04:05
have all of the different gauges of our Rebar.
04:07
We're going to make a different gauge in another video.
04:09
But right now, we'll just settle for number 4 Rebar.
04:12
It's the most popular Rebar.
04:15
Maybe I'll pull this up into here, a little higher,
04:20
hit Escape a couple of times.
04:22
Now what we can do is in this case,
04:23
let's just click on Finish.
04:27
Notice that it made a Rebar shape.
04:30
OK.
04:31
The style is standard.
04:33
That's OK.
04:33
What we're going to do is, select your Rebar now.
04:36
Like I said, we can do whatever we want with it.
04:38
We can move our little grips.
04:41
We can drag it around.
04:42
If I select this Rebar, I type M M for mirror, pick axes.
04:48
I pick the center of my wall.
04:51
Notice the second mirror.
04:52
I can grab my little grip here.
04:56
Drag it straight up.
04:58
Even though we have our Rebar cover settings,
05:00
if we place the reinforcing manually,
05:02
we can ignore those settings but if we're not placing it
05:05
manually those settings are very important.
