OK, this is the fun part.
00:08
The objective of this video is to create a view where
00:11
you can add Rebar and a plan, then
00:13
we'll add a cage in perpendicular reinforcing.
00:17
Jump into Revit.
00:18
Let's go to our favorite section footing 13.
00:21
Now the problem here is we kind of have to be in a plan view
00:25
to add this type of Rebar.
00:27
We don't have to be technically, but to see the actual cage
00:30
you're putting in.
00:31
It's good to be in a plan, but the plan
00:33
needs to be cutting through our geometry.
00:36
So what I like to do if you click on the section
00:39
button on your Quick Access toolbar,
00:42
let's make sure our section is a detail.
00:48
Now I'm going to pick a point from here going to here.
00:52
I'm always going in the wrong direction.
00:54
So notice we can flip this detail, so
00:56
click on flip section.
01:00
Hit Escape a couple of times.
01:04
Let's double click on our section, and open it up.
01:09
Let's make sure we pull it down, so we
01:11
can see the entire column.
01:12
And of course, we're going to change our scale to half inches
01:15
to a foot.
01:19
Let's zoom in on it.
01:20
Of course, we're going to select our section marker
01:22
and break it.
01:24
I don't want to see that ugliness, OK.
01:29
Now, select your column.
01:32
Wow, that's funny that icon is exactly what we're going to do.
01:35
So go ahead and select your Rebar button.
01:40
Let's add a shape to it.
01:43
I want to scroll down, down, down, down with the one I like.
01:46
Get in there, get in there.
01:48
Oh, that looks neat.
01:50
Here it is.
01:50
I'm gonna grab shape T1.
01:53
And let's make sure we click on current workplan,
01:55
so we're going to place on current workplan.
02:01
Now let's go in to our column.
02:04
We don't have too many choices, because of the way
02:06
this is configured.
02:07
We're just going to kind of put it here.
02:11
Hit Escape a couple of times.
02:13
Now, if we select our column, see that
02:16
and I think it's three inches inside of it.
02:18
Of course, now if we come down here and other faces,
02:23
column covers what we set, right?
02:27
You can make that a little less.
02:29
Exterior 3 inches or 5 inches, whatever you want to do
02:32
is going to configure that bar, right?
02:35
So now if we select our cage, I notice
02:39
that it's stirrupped high, so now our hook could start
02:43
or end is going to be our stirrup ties, right?
02:47
So I kind of like the way that is.
02:49
Now for our layout instead of single,
02:52
let's go maximum spacing.
02:55
Our spacing will be
02:60
Perfect.
03:02
Hit Escape a couple of times.
03:07
Now let's select our structural count.
03:11
Let's click Rebar.
03:15
Now I'm going to go all the way up to Rebar shaped double at.
03:21
And the placement, I want it to be perpendicular to cover.
03:26
I want to select the layout out rule.
03:30
We'll say fixed number, which will be three.
03:37
I'm going to put one here, and put one here.
03:44
Hit Escape a couple of times.
03:46
Now, if we tab on to this, remember
03:48
we can just kind of drag that in.
03:51
You can drag that in.
03:54
And the same down here, you can drag that in.
04:00
We can drag that in.
04:02
It's a little sloppy.
04:03
Actually, pressured you just copied it.
04:06
There we go.
04:07
That's how we add cage Rebar to a column.
