Adding Reinforcement to a Footing (2:20)

to add some typical reinforcing to our footing using

the standard methods of instruction.

In our structural project and structural footing,

let's zoom in to our footing.

Now, select your footing.

And what I'd like to do is let's click

on Rebar and the reinforcement panel.

We use our Rebar shape there a lot.

Let's make sure our placement is set for perpendicular to cover.

Now remember, in our Rebar set, this time

let's go with fixed number.

The quantity wants to be 3.

Now it's hard to tell which way it's going to go.

But remember, if we hover over this cover face,

it's going to go that way.

If you hover over our bottom cover, it will go that way.

And it won't let us place our Rebar outside of that cover

zone.

So I want to pick a spot right here.

Now I think I'll come up to here,

and pick a spot in the middle.

Hit escape a couple of times.

Not a big fan of the one in the middle,

Sometimes you might have to hover over it, tab on to it,

This fixed number will just be 2 and click Apply.

But now what I'd like to do is I want to click on my little grip

So notice that we can kind of override our cover settings

as long as we're going inside of our footing, right?

Now if our footing changes with their height,

we know that our reinforcing is going

to update to reflect that with their height.
