ERIC WING: OK, I don't know about you,
00:07
but I don't show Rebar this way.
00:09
In reality, I don't know anyone that shows Rebar this way.
00:12
If you do, I'm not shaming you.
00:14
I would just like to look at how we can show
00:16
this stuff in a different way.
00:18
So let's jump into Revit.
00:20
I'm going to go to my Section Footing 13.
00:23
OK, a couple of things here.
00:25
I had you turn your detail level to find and reverse that.
00:30
For a detail level, let's click our flyout.
00:33
And let's go back to Coarse This is how I show Rebar.
00:38
Of course, my Rebar is a lot thicker than that.
00:42
One problem, though, with the Coarse
00:43
is sometimes with our floor.
00:46
It's going to show up a little funny.
00:47
It's all right, select your floor.
00:52
Click Edit Type.
00:54
So our 4-inch concrete floor, there's
00:57
no reason that it doesn't have a Coarse Scale Fill Pattern.
01:01
So, floors get overridden by our graphics.
01:03
So we have to remember that.
01:05
So for Coarse SCALE Fill pattern, click into here.
01:09
Click your Browse button.
01:12
Select concrete Click OK.
01:18
Click Apply.
01:21
Then click OK.
01:23
Hit escape a couple of times.
01:24
You'll like it.
01:25
That looks a lot better.
01:27
OK, now let's deal with this flimsy reinforcing.
01:32
Go to the Manage tab.
01:36
Go to Object styles.
01:41
Scroll down to structural reinforcing.
01:44
Sometimes you have to widen your category here
01:46
to see it clearly.
01:48
Or I should say structural Rebar.
01:52
For projection, let's go with six.
01:56
For cut, let's go with six.
02:01
Click apply.
02:03
Click OK.
02:04
That immediately looks better.
02:07
Right, so now we can make our adjustments.
02:08
I can select this bar here, slide it over.
02:15
And I can slide this one over a little bit just
02:17
to make it start to look good.
02:23
Let me slide this bar up just a hair.
02:31
There we go.
02:32
I know we didn't do much, but I see
02:34
people don't use Revit Rebar just because they don't like
02:38
the way it looks as a default. You
02:40
don't have to accept the defaults.
02:42
You can make Revit look any way you want it to look.
