PRESENTER: So let's let Revit do the grunt work, shall we?
00:12
What I mean by that is if we're going to add Rebar to a model,
00:16
we might as well assign an automatic number and location
00:19
of where we're placing that reinforcing.
00:22
What I'd do in this video is add some path
00:24
reinforcing to a slab.
00:26
From there, we'll assign a number
00:28
to the reinforcing and also a location
00:30
that Revit likes to call a partition.
00:32
Let's jump into it.
00:34
I'd like to open my medical center parking garage.
00:37
Of course, you can open any project
00:39
that you're working on to follow along.
00:42
In the project browser, let's make
00:44
sure we're under Structural Plans.
00:45
I'm going to go down to level two.
00:49
Go to the Structure tab.
00:52
Under the Reinforcement panel, click the Path button.
00:59
Next, we want to select the slab that we're going
01:02
to put the path reinforcing in.
01:04
Rebar shape definitions will include hooks
01:06
and will ignore end treatments.
01:08
That's OK.
01:09
Click OK.
01:13
On the Draw panel, click Pick Lines.
01:20
Let's pick this line right here.
01:22
Of course, we had a 50/50% chance of that going
01:25
the right way and I failed.
01:27
So click on the little flip path reinforcement button.
01:32
Now, notice on the Draw panel, the Pick Lines button
01:35
is still selected.
01:36
So I'll pick this line here, this line here, this line here.
01:44
So what we want to do before we click Finish,
01:46
we need to make sure we have a partition name.
01:49
So what we're doing is saying, OK, this group of Rebar
01:53
is in this one specific spot in our project.
01:55
For lack of a better name, I think
01:57
I'll call it West Edge Level Two.
02:04
I'll set my layout for maximum spacing.
02:07
We don't need an additional offset.
02:10
View visibility states, let's click edit here.
02:13
And maybe we'll show it unobscured and solid
02:16
in our 3D view.
02:19
Click OK.
02:23
Scroll down.
02:24
I'm going to take the defaults for the rest of it.
02:27
We use Rebar shape one as our primary bar.
02:32
We'll make them five feet and they're number fours.
02:34
Everything else looks pretty good here.
02:36
So I'm going to click on Finish Edit Mode.
02:42
Hit Escape keep a couple of times.
02:46
Now, I have a section here but I'm going to delete it.
02:48
We'll draw our section in together.
02:50
That way, if you don't have a section,
02:51
you'll be on the same page literally.
02:55
On the Quick Access toolbar, click the Section button.
02:60
Click a section right through here to about there.
03:03
Hit escape a couple of times.
03:07
Let's open our section up.
03:10
Let's scroll down to this area here.
03:13
We'll keep this section at 1/8 of an inch
03:15
but let's create a callout here.
03:19
On the View tab, click Call Out.
03:26
Let's pick a box right around this area here.
03:30
Now, if we select our call out bubble,
03:32
we can grab our grip and kind of slide it over like that.
03:37
Hit Escape a few times.
03:41
Let's open our call out.
03:45
Let's change our view to 3/4 of an inch equals a foot.
03:52
Let's change our detail level to fine.
03:57
Go in this little Rebar hook.
03:60
Hover over the Rebar, just select it.
04:03
Notice what we have here.
04:05
We have a partition, it's West Edge Level Two,
04:09
Rebar number is no one.
04:11
I don't see that often.
04:13
And for a schedule mark, we can always change that too.
04:15
What we're going to do in a future video
04:17
is we're going to make a schedule
04:18
and that schedule is going to have
04:19
our partition and our Rebar number built into it.
04:23
Hit Escape a couple of times.
04:26
The last thing I want to do is just
04:28
go ahead and rename this call out.
04:30
We're going to put this on a sheet eventually.
04:34
So the view name instead of Section One Call-out One.
04:39
All caps, we'll call it Enlarged Slab Edge.
04:46
Click Apply.
04:49
Let's go to section one.
04:51
For the view name, we'll call it Section At Level Two.
04:59
Click Apply.
04:60
There you go.
05:01
Save your model.
05:02
You're all set.
05:03
That's how you add a partition and a Rebar number to a Rebar.
