Model Builder allows you to quickly and easily create

models based on specific area of your choice.

It's going to bring in roads and railways, building information,

imagery from Microsoft Bing, elevation data, so terrain

data for your site, and different bodies of water

amongst other things.

InfraWorks Model Builder is very simple to use.

Yeah, there are several different ways

to select that information.

You can simply draw a rectangle, you

can draw a polygon-shaped area, you can also

import a boundary, such as a shape file,

to establish your model.

So let's look at how easy Model Builder is

to create our first model.

OK, we're now here in InfraWorks, and at the top

you'll see Model Builder.

So along the top we've got a Model Builder, New model,

and Open a model.

We're going to simply choose Model Builder.

Here, we can zoom in to an area that we want to see.

We can search and address.

I'm going to search for this one here, Littleton, Colorado.

OK, that's going to get us in there close.

We're going to zoom in to our area of choice here,

and I'm going to select the Polygon option.

Draw a polygon to select an area of interest,

and I'm going to bring in this model for approximately

this area.

So once I've double-clicked that, I can then

enter a model name.

So I'm going to call this Redtail,

and I'm going to simply select Create

That's going to prepare a model.

You'll receive an email within a few minutes,

and your model is going to be available for you to download.

So when your model is ready, you'll see it here

in your home screen, so I'm going

to select on the Redtail model.

It's going to ask you, where would you like to store this,

whether you're using BIM 360 or locally.

You have the option there now to store that in either location.

Let me allow the model to download and open.

Once that model is open, you'll see on your screen

So if we take a quick look at the results,

you'll see that we have roadways brought in,

we have some of the building outlines,

we have some trails and stuff that sometimes come in,

as well as water features, and terrain.

So within a matter of minutes, you can select an area,

have your site downloaded, and have usable actionable data
