When you open a folder on the desktop page,
00:11
you'll notice that the assets within it are organized into batches.
00:16
You can think of batches as on demand views for
00:19
your files within a folder specifically designed for efficient asset management
00:23
that can be reorganized with just a few clicks.
00:27
Whenever assets are uploaded,
00:29
they must be added to either an existing batch or a new batch,
00:32
so every batch on the platform will have a name.
00:36
Here, we have three batches in our daily folder:
00:39
demo batch,
00:40
my new batch,
00:41
and my second new batch.
00:44
When working with these assets,
00:46
you can use batches to reorganize them based off of any metadata field you'd like.
00:52
For example, by selecting the scene from the filtering options,
00:58
all the assets within the folder will now be reorganized into batches,
01:02
based off of the info found in the scene metadata field.
01:12
You'll also note that any assets that don't have
01:15
any info in that field will all be batched together
01:18
such as the case here with our no seen batch.
01:25
To reorganize these again, you can select a different parameter, such as episode,
01:34
camera,
01:38
and more.
01:41
Batches can also be used to make
01:43
selecting your circle takes or print takes more efficient.
01:47
When viewing your assets,
01:49
once you've identified a print take, you can indicate it as such by putting a yes
01:53
in the print take metadata field.
01:60
Once you've made all your selections, you can then re batch by print take,
02:05
which will separate them all from the other takes.
02:10
It's important to note that whenever you're re batching your assets,
02:14
they aren't being moved from their location,
02:16
which helps you keep organized without any possibility of losing track of them.
02:21
Batches are most powerful when used in conjunction with other functionality.
02:26
For example, when creating a playlink,
02:28
re batching by scene will allow you to select all assets from
02:31
that scene to be sent out to whoever needs to review them.
02:36
Note that in terms of permissions, anyone with access to a
02:39
folder will have access to all files within that folder.
02:44
In other words, permissions cannot be changed on a batch by batch basis.
