In the tutorial on commenting,
00:11
we went through the mechanics of how to leave a comment, as well
00:14
as the details that are captured in the comments, such as resolution,
00:17
dynamic range, and time code.
00:20
It's important to note that there are a few different types of comments, all
00:24
with these same mechanics but that behave
00:26
slightly differently in terms of their visibility,
00:29
which will go over in this tutorial.
00:31
Firstly,
00:32
we have public comments, which, as the name suggests, will
00:35
be viewable by anyone who is a folder participant.
00:39
In other words,
00:39
if a user leaves a comment on an asset and
00:42
a colleague leaves a comment on that same asset.
00:45
Whenever either of them views that asset in the folder,
00:48
they'll be able to see both of those comments.
00:54
The ability to see and leave comments is available to any
00:58
and all participants on that folder regardless of their permission set.
01:03
The next type of comment is a private comment,
01:05
which is available by switching to the private tab at the top.
01:10
This type of comment is completely private to you and will only ever
01:14
be viewable by you, regardless of who else has access to the folder.
01:25
You can think of this as leaving yourself a note which you can reference later.
01:30
The last type of comment is a playlink comment.
01:33
Whenever a playlink is sent out,
01:34
the center of that playlink has the ability to turn commenting on or off.
01:39
If it's left on,
01:41
the mechanics and interface for leaving a comment,
01:43
when reviewing that playlink, will be the same as if doing so within the folder,
01:48
with one distinct difference.
01:51
Whenever you're commenting on an asset via a playlink,
01:54
you'll only be able to view your comments in the comments section.
02:04
If you happen to be a folder participant,
02:06
you'll be able to view all of the comments by
02:08
navigating to the folder and viewing them from there.
02:17
If you're not a folder participant,
02:19
you won't be able to see anyone's comments except your own.
02:23
If, of course, comments have been turned off altogether on a playlink,
02:27
the option to do so won't be visible at all.
