When uploading to Flow Capture,
00:11
you have the flexibility to specify the source of your metadata.
00:15
Metadata can be extracted from ALEs,
00:17
XMLs,
00:19
and/or WAVs provided by your onset
00:22
DIT.
00:23
Simply check the appropriate option to tell the
00:25
platform where to extract your metadata from.
00:29
It's important to note that Flow Capture keys off
00:32
file names when applying metadata from sidecar files.
00:35
So you'll need to make sure that those match in both the
00:37
assets you're uploading and wherever the metadata is being extracted from.
00:43
If metadata has already been applied and you have a new metadata file to upload,
00:47
you can instruct Flow Capture to overwrite the existing metadata.
00:51
Just check the overwrite existing metadata checkbox and it will replace the
00:56
current metadata in your Flow Capture folder with the newly supplied information.
01:01
It's important to note, however, that a blank field in your new
01:05
sidecar file will not replace a metadata field
01:07
in Flow Capture that already contains content.
01:14
For added precision, you can apply metadata exclusively to a selected batch,
01:19
which is especially helpful if you have assets
01:21
with identical file names spread across different batches.
