The bit rate that we encode video files at
00:10
for playback can be set using the target playback
00:13
bitrate setting.
00:15
All folders are set to medium bitrate by default.
00:18
But if you'd like, you could change this on a folder by folder basis.
00:22
To do so, first click on the folder,
00:24
you want to change on the left while on the desktop tab
00:27
and then click the upload options icon on the right.
00:33
At the top, you'll see a drop down menu which gives you four tiers to choose from:
00:37
low,
00:38
medium,
00:40
high,
00:41
and very high.
00:42
The kilobits per second displayed next to each tier are all for standard SDR format.
00:48
If you're uploading in HDR or 4K, the details of these tiers are different.
00:53
For more on the specifics, please see our video upload doc
00:57
linked below.
00:59
Note that with increased bit rate comes an increased
01:02
bandwidth requirement for the viewers streaming the video.
01:05
Meaning you will need to strike a balance when deciding which tier to set.
