The metadata associated with an asset can provide information
00:11
about the footage that was shot, such as episode,
00:14
scene,
00:15
camera,
00:16
and more.
00:18
However,
00:19
sometimes you may want to categorize your assets based on something more
00:22
contextual and which doesn't fall into one of these metadata fields.
00:26
This is where tags come in handy.
00:29
Simply put, tags allow you to create custom labels for your assets and apply them
00:34
however you see fit.
00:35
For example, in this folder, we have several assets, some of which feature wildlife
00:41
and some of which don't.
00:43
If you want to be able to find all assets containing wildlife,
00:47
you can create a wildlife tag
00:49
and then apply it to those specific assets.
00:52
To do so, just click on one of the assets you wish to tag,
00:55
then click on the tag button on the right-hand side.
00:59
You can then create a customized tag, which can be anything you like.
01:06
Creating this tag adds it to the asset,
01:09
but it also makes it available to other assets within this folder.
01:13
To apply an existing tag, just click on the asset,
01:16
select the tag,
01:19
and you're done.
01:21
Note that tags are folder specific,
01:23
so any tag you create will only be available for
01:26
that folder and any sub folders created within it.
