With our part aligned, we can now identify further features to be inspected.
00:13
We can create more geometric features like we did earlier, using the Wireframe Checker to pick features from the CAD model.
00:19
We will also look at the form inspection by using the Surface Inspection feature.
00:24
We'll start by measuring the five holes on the other side of the part.
00:28
We can use the same technique we used to measure the alignment geometry by using the Wireframe Checker to pick holes one at a time.
00:35
Again, choosing to create probe circles and pressing "Accept" to add them to the new geometric group in the Sequence Tree.
00:42
Feel free here to pause the video and add any additional features you may want to inspect to this group.
00:48
Once you've added all the holes you want, we can inspect these features by pressing "Play All" in the Measure tab of the ribbon.
00:54
Go ahead and pause the video here while you take these measurement points, allowing PowerInspect to walk through the inspection process.
01:00
Remember to ensure that you're measuring the correct feature at each stage, which should be indicated by dark blue boundary.
01:13
Next, let's take a look at the Surface Inspection.
01:16
Press the "Green Arrow" to move back into the main section of the Sequence Tree.
01:20
And from the Form tab, select "On-the-Fly Surface Group".
01:24
Once again, we are presented with a dialog box in which we can set the various parameters of our new group.
01:31
Rename the group Top Form and leave the rest of the values as defaults.
01:36
The new group will automatically play and ask you to start measuring points.
01:40
A minimum of six surface points is required.
01:43
Once you're happy, press the "Green Tick" to apply.
01:46
At this stage, we've finished inspecting our part and we're ready to move on to the final stage of our workflow and generate the report.
