In this video, we'll use text notes.
00:06
After completing this step, you'll be able to use text and add text note with the leader.
00:12
In fusion 360, we want to carry on with our coupler for production drawing,
00:17
at this point we're going to start to explore adding text to a detailed drawing.
00:21
There are a few different things that we can do.
00:23
We've got a text which creates a text note that is separate from all other geometry.
00:28
We have the note option with a small lightning bolt icon.
00:32
Now this automatically will create a text note with a leader but it can also be used for things like holes, threads, bend identifiers or leader notes.
00:42
We also have the leader note which is pretty specific in the fact that its text with a leader.
00:47
Then we have hole and thread note and bend note.
00:50
So similar to how the dimension tool can encapsulate multiple types of dimensions.
00:55
The note tool can encapsulate multiple types of notes but let's go ahead and get started with text.
01:02
We're going to begin adding a text note and I'm gonna simply draw a box in the bottom left hand corner, left click for its second point.
01:10
And then I'm going to add a note called tumble finish.
01:14
To finish this I'll left click. And now we've got a tumble finished text note.
01:19
This can be placed anywhere on the drawing, for example, if it's a specific note category that you need to have inside of your title block,
01:26
you can have it there or you can add it to the title block information.
01:30
We can also simply drag it anywhere that it needs to.
01:33
If you have an area on your detailed drawings, four notes, then you can put it there.
01:38
Let's take a look at using the leader note option.
01:42
With the leader note option, what we're going to talk about is adding a note that points to a very specific selection.
01:50
We're going to simply drag this out into the right and begin typing.
01:54
In this case, we're going to put a note that says break edge
01:58
When we have a break edge note, it simply means we want to remove the sharp corner from the design that might be left for milling.
02:06
So again, tumble finish is adding a note and break edge is adding our leader note.
02:12
And once again the note option with the lightning bolt will also act as a leader note if we're simply selecting the edge of a part.
02:19
But if you select a hole that has threads or was created with the hole tool in fusion 360, it will also capture that whole information.
02:27
At this point, let's make sure that we do save this drawing before moving on to the next step.
