In this video, will add center lines and center marks to views.
00:06
After completing this step, you'll be able to use center line center mark and at a center mark pattern.
00:14
In fusion 360, we want to carry on with our coupler for production drawing.
00:19
We're going to get started by exploring the geometry and first adding a center line.
00:24
The center line allows us to select two linear references. For example, the outside diameter of this boar.
00:30
Once we placed it, let's hit escape to get off the tool and then we can select and extend the center line.
00:37
This helps visually represent the center line of the design since it is circular.
00:41
But it also helps us give a position from which we can measure from.
00:46
Next, let's take a look at applying a center mark.
00:50
We're going to select geometry center mark and we'll begin by placing one at the origin.
00:56
The next thing that we can do is place them at any of the radii on this design.
01:01
Once we've placed those, we could easily select more or we could use a center mark pattern.
01:06
By selecting center mark pattern, we simply need to select a reference.
01:11
Notice when I put the cursor in different places, it gives me different results.
01:15
What it's doing is it's looking at the center marks that are already in the design
01:19
and determining where it can place the other ones because we have autocomplete turned on.
01:24
So all I really need to do is determine which center marks I want a pattern, make my selection and then it can automatically be applied.
01:32
We'll say okay, and now we have the center marks as well as the arc that goes between them.
01:38
If I had selected this lower arc position are PCD or our center diameter circle would be in this lower position.
01:45
I need to do this one more time and I need to select the lower arcs.
01:50
But notice that when I do this, it's not giving me the same results.
01:54
And again we can always go back and manually add center marks as needed.
01:59
Or we can use the center mark pattern.
02:01
Sometimes it makes sense to use the pattern while in other times you might want to simply manually select each instance
02:07
depending on your specific geometry and needs.
02:10
From here, let's make sure that we go back to a fit view and let's save the drawing before moving on.
