Solve a generative study.
00:05
After completing this video, you'll be able to generate a study
00:12
in fusion 3 60.
00:13
Let's carry on with our internal combustion engine gen design set up at this point,
00:18
we are ready to solve and generate our study.
00:21
Notice that in the generate section, we have an option simply called generate.
00:25
There's also generate details and job status that can be viewed during the solve.
00:30
Once we click generate,
00:31
we'll be prompted to solve any available
00:35
studies that are in this generative design.
00:37
Note that we only have generative model four study three. Currently in here,
00:42
these can be renamed before you decide to solve your generative study.
00:46
And that can be helpful if you're
00:48
solving multiple studies or multiple generative models.
00:51
Also note that it does show our status.
00:54
It tells us that we have a warning about the milling head diameter.
00:58
If the status was more than just a warning, it would not let us solve at this point.
01:03
It is also important to note that currently this
01:05
costs 11 cloud credits to solve a generative study.
01:09
There is no current cost associated with exploring
01:12
the outcomes or exporting those as designs,
01:14
but you do have to use 11 cloud credits in order to generate this.
01:19
If this is your first time using fusion 3 60 generative design,
01:23
there are also trial periods for the generative design extension that
01:27
allow you to have unlimited solves for a period of time.
01:31
While the cloud job is solving, we will be able to see the results in real time.
01:36
However,
01:36
it will take a considerable amount of time before we have all of our results,
01:40
either finished,
01:42
completed or converged.
01:47
So at this point as it begins to solve,
01:49
you can see that it tells us that the thumbnails will appear as they are processing.
01:54
The solve status is just at 5%.
01:56
And if we expand this, we can see that this solving is currently taking place.
02:01
This is going to be happening for all studies that you chose to solve.
02:05
In our case, it's only a single study.
02:07
We're going to allow this to begin to populate and we'll
02:10
check back in as soon as we begin having some results.
02:14
Once we start to see outcomes being generated, we can look at them in real time.
02:18
Uh At this point,
02:19
we've only got one or two iterations and some
02:22
of them are still calculating the first iteration.
02:25
So really it depends on the complexity of your outcomes.
02:29
So for example, if you're dealing with a low synthesis resolution
02:33
and you have one manufacturing method and one material that's gonna solve quite
02:37
a bit faster than if you increase
02:39
the synthesis resolution have multiple materials,
02:41
multiple manufacturing methods
02:43
and a lot of different load cases.
02:45
So our situation here is we've got a lot of load cases.
02:49
We've got a handful of materials and several different manufacturing methods.
02:54
So this means it's gonna take a little bit of time and you
02:56
should check back in periodically to see where everything is in the solve.
03:01
At this point, I'm gonna finish the explorer and I'll come back in a few hours,
03:04
check on the solves and then view the outcomes.
03:06
Then
03:08
at this point by invoking the generative solve,
03:10
we don't need to save the design and we can simply
03:13
check back in once we have some outcomes to explore.
