In this exercise, you'll practice how to create a turning profile roughing operation.
Exercise
Transcript
00:01
This is a practice exercise video solution.
00:07
For this practice we'll be using the Fusion 360 design profile.
00:11
This design already contains facing, a rapid drilling and deep drilling cycle.
00:17
From here we're going to go to turning and select turning profile roughing.
00:22
Note that there's already a C.N.M.T. tool selected that was used for facing the front of our part.
00:28
In the geometry section, we're going to allow it to go from the model front to the model back.
00:34
We're going to add a small extension off of the back of .25 inches.
00:39
We're going to say okay and allow it to machine off all the outside of the part using those values.
00:45
Noting that the tool is trying to go into various areas.
00:49
We want to keep it from dropping into these grooves.
00:51
We can modify the profile roughing tool path by going to the passes section and inside of the grooving option, don't allow grooving and say okay.
01:01
Now the tool path will skip over the grooving sections and these can be done later on using a specific tool path,
01:07
it's navigate back to a home view and make sure that we save the design before moving on.
