to get started. We want to note that this design does not have any history.
00:16
So if we want to make changes, we need to use direct modeling tools.
00:20
So the first thing that we want to do is identify where features are located.
00:24
By using inspect and measure.
00:26
We'll note here that we have a half inch diameter hole and if we select both holes,
00:31
you can see that there are four inches apart.
00:33
We left click,
00:35
we can go ahead and select these two holes and note that they're inch and a quarter.
00:39
We want to make these holes one inch apart in the
00:41
vertical direction and three inches apart in the horizontal direction,
00:45
which means that these holes need to move toward each other a quarter
00:48
inch and they need to move toward each other horizontally an inch.
00:52
So in order to do this, what we want to do is use move copy
00:56
will select faces
00:58
and we'll start by selecting the inside faces of the two left holes.
01:03
When we view this from the top,
01:04
we want to ensure that the arrows are pointing in the horizontal direction
01:09
because we need to move a total of one inch.
01:12
We're going to move these holes a half inch and say okay
01:15
using our right click menu, we can repeat the last command.
01:19
Next we'll select the holes on the right hand side,
01:22
select the direction and move them negative half an inch.
01:26
Let's double check and measure the distance between these two holes. Now
01:30
You can see that from center to center. We have three
01:34
Next we need to use move to move the upper two holes
01:38
down a distance of .125.
01:42
We're going to right click and repeat the process and we'll
01:45
move the two lower holes up a distance of .125.
01:50
Once again we use inspect and will measure
01:53
the distance between these two holes vertically.
01:55
We now have one inch and 3" in each direction respectively.
02:01
Let's make a few last adjustments.
02:04
We're going to select all the filets on the outside of the body
02:08
and we're going to use modify and delete
02:11
or delete on the keyboard.
02:13
Then we're going to use move copy,
02:16
select this end face and we're going to move it in a distance of a half inch.
02:20
Right click. Ok.
02:22
Right click to repeat and we'll move it in a distance of minus one half inch.
02:28
Right click and select. Ok.
02:30
We're going to repeat the process on the lower and upper faces as well.
02:34
Moving in a distance of -125
02:38
And repeating the process on the top.
02:41
Moving this a distance of -125
02:46
once we have them in their correct position we can repeat the filets
02:50
go ahead and apply a fill it to each corner.
02:55
We're going to use a radius value of .25 and hit enter to okay,
02:60
now we've made all the adjustments to this design
03:02
when we didn't have feature history to start.
03:05
The holes are in the correct location,
03:07
the sides are in the same orientation as they were before, in respect to the holes.
03:12
And we've also re added those filets
03:14
at this point, make sure that we do save before moving on.
