In this exercise, you'll practice how to toggle component color cycling, create a new simulation study, and remove components in Simplify.
Exercise
Transcript
00:01
This is a practice exercise video solution.
00:07
For this practice we'll get started with the supplied dataset conveyor drive.F3D.
00:13
First we're going to go to Inspect and turn on component color cycling so we can get a better idea of the components that are in this design.
00:20
We need to focus our attention on the motor bracket so we'll begin by going to this simulation workspace,
00:26
starting a new static stress simulation study and by entering Simplify so we can remove unneeded components.
00:36
Inside of Simplify, we're going to expand the model components.
00:40
We want to focus on the motor bracket as well as the motor itself.
00:44
So holding down the control or command key will select those two, right click and remove all except selected.
00:51
Using the Home button we're going to bring all the components back to a fit to screen view.
00:57
We're going to be looking at the bracket itself, but we're keeping the motor as we're going to replace it with a point mass.
01:04
From here, we can finish Simplify and make sure that we do save the design before moving on.
