Solve a simulation study

00:02

Solve a simulation study.

00:06

In this video, we'll solve a simulation study.

00:10

In Fusion 360, we want to carry on with our motorcycle rear set dataset.

00:14

At this point, we are ready to solve and we have three studies that need to be solved.

00:19

It's important to note that what we've done from the start is we've created a simulation model,

00:25

and then we've made modifications to it by cloning it and bringing along all the study setups from each of those clones.

00:32

So now we have a bracket and frame mount which has a bonded connection between the two pieces.

00:37

We have a bolted bracket and frame mount which has bolted connections.

00:41

And then we have our study which is the frame mount only.

00:44

These are three different simulation models with three different simulation studies.

00:49

Each of these will need to be solved if we want to see the results.

00:52

To solve these studies, we can go to solve and note that only the current active study has been checked,

00:59

but we can solve all three of them at the same time.

01:02

It's important to remember that when we're solving on the cloud, a linear static stress study is going to require five cloud credits.

01:09

These can be solved locally but note that they must be solved one at a time.

01:14

Solving on the cloud allows us to solve all three at the same time by using cloud computing.

01:20

So keep in mind that if you are solving these locally, you will need to solve them one at a time.

01:25

Our main focus for this course is the frame mount only.

01:28

So if you're only going to solve one to follow along, make sure that you do solve that one.

01:33

Note that we do have a few view options inside of the solve dialogue.

01:37

We can show solve studies and we can actually navigate to the results locally or on the web through there.

01:43

We can show studies with errors and there's even an option to show cloud credit costs and balances.

01:48

So if you use multiple cloud credit accounts, you can use that option to show those cloud credit accounts and navigate to which one you're using.

01:56

For the purposes of this video, I'm going to be solving all three at the same time on the cloud,

02:01

but again, if you're solving just one, make sure it's frame mount only.

02:05

We're going to select solve studies and all three will be solved simultaneously.

02:10

Because we are using cloud computing, this is a great benefit,

02:13

because it can schedule and solve those at the same time assuming the resources are available.

02:19

At this point, we're going to allow all three of these to solve and in the next video, we'll check back in and review the results.
