Once a user has set up their follow settings, they will start to receive notifications in their Flow Production Tracking Inbox.
The notifications that a user receives in their Inbox can also be sent to them by email.
To start receiving notifications by email, users will need to access their email notification settings. These settings can be accessed from the Account Settings page.
On the left-hand side of the Account Settings page, users can select the Email Notifications tab. From here, users can choose to receive an email:
Under More Notification Options, users can also toggle on and off options to receive notifications about different entities, such as Notes, Tasks, and Versions. Users will only see entities that a site Admin has enabled for that site.
To make setting up email notifications even easier, under My Follow Settings, when a user is choosing what they want to receive Flow Production Tracking notifications about, they can select “Email me whenever there's an update to something I’m following”. This way their notifications and emails will be in alignment.
Alternatively, users can choose to turn off all email notification settings and rely on the Flow Production Tracking Inbox as a way of reducing the number of messages they receive.
Users will never receive notifications related to projects that they are not allowed to view, regardless of their personal notification settings.
Deactivated users also will not receive any email notifications. If a user is deactivated from a Flow Production Tracking site, meaning they can no longer log in, then they will also no longer receive any emails related to information on that site.
Automated notification emails from Flow Production Tracking are sent from noreply@shotgrid.autodesk.com. Users can use this email address to help filter and organize messages in their email inbox.
Account Settings can also be accessed from the Flow Production Tracking Inbox. From within the Inbox, click on the gear in the right-hand corner, and choose either "Email Notification Settings" or "Following Settings". Both these buttons will bring users back into the Account settings menu.
Users should consider limiting what they follow and subscribe to in order to limit the number of notifications they receive to only those that are necessary.
Receiving notifications on things that are important to users both in Flow Production Tracking and by email is a great way to keep up to date on what is happening on a project.
