Customize the Project navigation menu

Now that you've been introduced to the Project navigation menu,

we're going to discuss how it can be customized.

All entities within a Project schema are

accessible via the Project navigation menu.

But you may notice that not all are displayed.

While some pages will be visible, the rest will appear under the other drop down tab.

It won't be possible to have all of the entities of a project visible

in a Project navigation menu because there are just too many to be displayed.

However, you may want to choose exactly

which entities are in the displayed menu versus the other drop down menu.

You are likely to want to see pages that project teams most need

to access to be visible and keep the remaining pages tucked away.

Administrators have the ability to control

what the Project navigation looks like.

While most parts of the Project navigation menu, like the project name,

project pages, and project actions tabs will stay the same,

it's the entity pages that can be customized.

You can customize which pages are displayed, the order of the pages in the menu,

and the names of the pages.

Let's go over just how easy it is to

customize the Project navigation. From within any project,

go to Project Actions in the top right hand corner of the screen,

select Navigation

at the top. We can see which pages are currently in our Project navigation menu.

To remove pages from the Project navigation,

select the garbage can beside the page.

The page will reappear below and can be re-added into the navigation

later.

selecting the garbage can doesn't mean the page is deleted.

It just means it has been deleted or removed from the displayed project menu.

To add pages to the project navigation, you just need to drag and drop the page

you want to add up into the main project menu.

To reorder pages, simply drag each page around into the order

you would like them displayed in.

Pages can be given custom names in the project

Now, you aren't limited to using only the provided pages.

You can also add custom pages to your Project navigation.

Another thing that can be customized is the main landing page of a project.

The landing page is the first page. A user will land on when they open a project

and will also be the first page in the project navigation.

I've decided that I want my custom page to be the landing page for this project.

The leftmost page in the navigation bar is

We can see this is indicated by the word default. To make my custom page

the new landing page, all I need to do is drag the custom page over to the left.

Whichever page you drag to the leftmost position will

One other customization we can make is to rename pages.

What if a page has multiple tabs and

go back into the Project navigation from the Project actions tab.

Select the pencil to the right of the name of the page.

Add in the new name of the page and click out of it to lock it in.
