Once the models from various disciplines

are aggregated together in a Navisworks file,

you can start to investigate how the models interact

with each other.

You can just move around in the model visually,

but it's much better to run a clash

test to more accurately identify the issues.

In Navisworks Manage, we're going

to open the Navisworks file set Small Hospital Combined

clash.nwf and click Open.

There are three models in this.

To see this, you can go up to the Home tab

and select Selection Tree.

Now you can see that we have the three models,

and there's one for architectural, one for systems,

and one for structural.

We're going to start our investigation by checking

clashes between structural beams and mechanical pipes,

so we don't need to see the architectural model

for this test.

In the Selection Tree, right click

on the architectural model, and select Hide.

Then we can zoom in on the area where we're

going to do our clash tests.

In the Home tab Tools panel, click Clash Detective.

In the Clash Detective window, in the upper right corner,

we're going to click Add Test.

In the Name edit box, we're going to type

in a name that matches the clash you

We're going to click on the Rules tab

so that you can see that you can ignore certain clashes,

and in this case, we're not going to do any of these.

But for example, if there are some items that

We're ready to set up our selection.

As you can see on the Select tab,

there's selection A and selection B. And each of them

These are the same options that you

Your standard gives you all the options

whereas compact just gives you the option of the file itself.
