Terminology review and system configuration

In this unit, you will review the terminology used with Fusion Manage. You will also learn about the system configuration tools that will be used to set up the tenant for the first time.

00:04

This is the workflow overview for the module.

00:07

The first task is a review of the Fusion 360 Manage terminology that is used in this module.

00:14

The first term is tenant.

00:16

A Fusion 360 Manage tenant, also known as a site, is a specific instance of Fusion 360 Manage.

00:23

It contains all of the items, processes and users that a company needs to manage and track.

00:29

Companies are provided a default tenant that can be configured and customized

00:34

to their needs as we'll see in this module.

00:37

An item in Fusion 360 Manage is a unique data record in a Fusion 360 Manage workspace

00:43

such as a specific part and assembly a person,

00:46

a task, a change items such as a change order or whatever you are managing.

00:54

Next is workspace.

00:56

Your tenant is made up of workspaces.

00:58

Workspaces within Fusion 360 Manage contain items that share the same type, behavior and properties.

01:05

Workspaces typically represent logical groupings.

01:08

Shown here are examples of workspaces in the default tenant within the Product Development group.

01:14

Documents, Items and BOMs, Vault Items and BOMs, Design Reviews and Design Review Tasks.

01:21

You can view and manage items within their workspaces.

01:27

The last one is workflow.

01:29

A workflow in Fusion 360 Manage refers to the actions required

01:33

to complete a process that manages workspace items.

01:37

As an item progresses through the actions in a workflow, the state of the item in a workflow changes.

01:43

Shown here is an example of a Change Request workflow

01:47

showing submit for review and approval actions in a process.

01:51

The current workflow state in this example is Create,

01:54

other states shown in this example include Review & Impact Analysis,

01:59

Change Control Board Review and Change Order in progress.

02:07

The next step in the module's workflow

02:09

involves using some of the system configuration tools in Fusion 360 Manage

02:14

to set up the tenant for the first time.

02:19

The system configuration options are found under the navigation menu under Administration, System Configuration.

02:27
