00:35
Once the project starts,
00:36
click the info water pro tab to open the info water pro ribbon
00:40
in the project panel, click initialize
00:43
first select the area of the map with the junctions you want to test
00:49
on the info Water pro ribbon in the domain panel. Click clear domain,
00:55
click in large domain and select the area to the lower left in the map.
01:06
Use the reduced domain tool if you select extra pipes or nodes,
01:15
once the domain is set on the info water pro ribbon
01:18
in the domain panel,
01:20
click the select tool so that the domain tools are no longer active

in the analysis panel. Click run
01:32
in the run manager on the firef flow tab.
01:35
Make sure that run firef flow on domain only is enabled
01:40
then enable duration and set the value to 240.
01:45
Previously, the time was set to hour 10.
01:47
So info Water pro will run a standard simulation for the first
01:51
nine hours and then apply the fire flow demands at hour 10
01:55
because the duration is in minutes.
01:57
The firef flow demand will be applied for four hours or until hour. 14
02:03
click run.
02:05
The firefly report opens automatically in the report manager.
02:09
If you are prompted to switch to the most recent output data, click yes.
02:14
The report that opens is the standard firef flow report.
02:18
The duration report must be opened manually
02:22
in the report manager. Click new
02:25
in the output slash report graph window
02:27
under available output sources select active firef flow
02:32
on the tabular report tab select firef flow extended time and then click open
02:39
the firef flow
02:40
eps appears in the report manager.
02:42
This report details the lowest pressure found over the
02:45
extended duration and the time the low pressure occurred.
02:50
Keep in mind that if you want to
02:51
see results from hydrants during multiple times steps,
02:54
then you would use the multi firef flow tab for that capability.

The fireflow modeling capabilities of InfoWater Pro allow for duration testing to extend the fireflow run over a longer period. During a fireflow EPS, the simulation searches for the critical junctions with the lowest pressure, as well as the critical pipes with the highest velocity. The resulting output report highlights the critical conditions and the time at which they occur over the specified period.
Note: Previously, the Time was set to hour 10, so InfoWater Pro will run a standard simulation for the first 9 hours, and then apply the fireflow demands at hour 10. Because the duration is in minutes, the fireflow demand will be applied for 4 hours, or until hour 14.
