Statistical reports can be generated from the results of one or more simulations.
00:09
The reports contain summaries relating to selected locations and attributes.
00:14
Statistical summaries are produced by first defining the relevant criteria in a Statistics Template.
00:21
This template is then applied to the results of one or more simulations to generate statistical results.
00:28
This example uses a statistics template to analyze the impact of previously created sluices with RTC conditions.
00:37
To complete this exercise, open the transportable database .icmt file for this tutorial.
00:45
You start by running the simulations with the Tank Storage scenario.
00:49
In the Database, right-click TSR Run and select Open.
00:55
Update the Run title to “TSR Tank Test”.
00:59
Click Update to latest to make sure all the latest changes are included.
01:05
In the Scenarios list, select Tank Storage, and then click Run Simulations.
01:11
In the Schedule Job(s) popup, click OK.
01:15
While the simulation is running, you can set up the statistics template.
01:19
In the Database, right-click the Use_Stat_Rprts folder, select New InfoWorks, and then select Statistics template.
01:30
Enter the name “Storm Tank Analysis”, and then click OK.
01:36
In the Statistics Template dialog, you can define the analysis rules.
01:42
By default, it is set to analyze ‘links’ and ‘DS flow’.
01:47
From the Model Group, drag the Storm Tank Spill selection list and drop it onto the right-side of the Statistics Template.
01:55
This auto-populates the location information with the stored spill link.
01:60
To prevent minor instabilities from affecting the results, set the Threshold1 field to 0.0001.
02:10
Click Save, and then close the dialog.
02:14
By this point, the simulation should be complete, so you can now run a statistics report for the results.
02:21
From the Results menu, select Statistical reports to open the Compose Statistical Report dialog.
02:30
From the Database, drag and drop both TSR Run and TSR Run Tank Test into the Sim section,
02:39
and then drag and drop Storm Tank Analysis into the Statistics template section.
02:45
Click Produce report.
02:48
In the popup, click Yes to prepare the statistics.
02:52
The statistics report is generated and contains information for the spill link.
02:58
The Exceedance summary tab contains the most concise information
03:03
and shows that the Total Volume (m3) has been reduced from the original TSR Run to the Tank Test run.
03:12
These statistics can be copied and pasted into a spreadsheet,
03:16
or they can be exported to CSV files by selecting Statistics > Export statistical data.
03:25
Close the Statistical Reports dialog.
03:29
You can also directly compare the two simulations.
03:33
Right-click the base model simulation 2001 Typical Year_Evap and select Open to open the model in the GeoPlan.
03:44
Right-click the Tank Storage 2001 Typical Year_Evap simulation and select Open as.
03:52
In the Select results popup, select As alternative results for comparison, and then click OK.
04:00
In the GeoPlan title bar, notice that both simulation names now appear.
04:06
Double-click a node which should be impacted by the RTC to open its properties, where you can compare the two columns of results.
04:15
You can also compare them using a graph.
04:18
Click the Graph tool, then select a link in the model.
04:22
Choose the attributes to graph, such as Flow, and then click OK to open the graph.

Statistical reports can be generated from the results of one or more simulations. The reports contain summaries relating to selected locations and attributes. Start by running the simulations with the Tank Storage scenario:
While the simulation is running, set up the statistics template:
In the Statistics Template dialog box, define the analysis rules. By default, it is set to analyze links and DS flow.
This auto-populates the location information with the stored spill link.
By this point, the simulation should be complete, so a statistics report for the results can now be run:
The Statistical Report View is generated and contains information for the spill link.
The Exceedance summary grid contains the most concise information and shows that the Total Volume (m3) has been reduced from the original TSR Run to the Tank Test run.
These statistics can be copied and pasted into a spreadsheet, or they can be exported to CSV files by selecting Statistics > Export statistical data.
To compare the two simulations directly:
In the GeoPlan title bar, notice that both simulation names now appear.
To compare the results using a graph:
