Once you have run a simulation, there are several ways to view and work with the results.
00:10
To complete this exercise, copy the data out of the transportable database .icmt file for this tutorial.
00:19
In the Database, expand the Design Run and the TSR Run objects.
00:24
Right-click either of the simulation icons, and select Open As.
00:30
The Select Results dialog offers different ways to view your simulation results.
00:36
Click Log results (text), then click OK.
00:41
The log report contains information on the input data for the simulation and the performance of the simulation.
00:48
Scroll through the report to see an overview of the run parameters, timestep information, warnings or error messages,
00:56
and details of non-convergence.
00:59
Close the log report.
01:01
Right-click the simulation again, select Open As, and choose PRN summary results (text).
01:11
The PRN report contains an overview of network results and a summary of the maximum results for nodes and links.
01:20
Close the PRN results window.
01:24
Another way to manage simulation results is with the Results Manager.
01:30
Right-click the 1D Sewer Model group and select Open results manager.
01:36
The Results management window provides a summary of the results under the model group,
01:41
including the ID, simulation results size, and location.
01:47
This information can be useful to:
01:50
estimate storage needs for a full set of results,
01:53
help you understand why you cannot view a simulation result,
01:57
or identify which simulation results are associated with the runs.
02:03
Right-click anywhere in the grid to display a shortcut menu.
02:07
This menu provides options to move, delete, or re-run simulations.
02:12
This can be done for a selection or individual rows.
02:17
To find locally saved simulation result files, from the Tools menu, click Options.
02:24
In the Options dialog, on the Local Folders tab, expand the drop-down and select Results Folder.
02:32
Then, click Open the folder for this database with Windows Explorer.
02:38
These files are unique to the ICM database and should not be manually edited or deleted.
02:44
This process should always be undertaken through the ICM user interface.
02:50
The primary way to view and replay time-varying simulation results is by opening the simulation in the GeoPlan.
02:59
Double-click or drag-and-drop the Design Run simulation to open in the GeoPlan.
03:05
In the GeoPlan Tools toolbar, click the Properties icon and select a node to open the Properties window.
03:13
Click the Show Results icon to toggle between the object properties and results.
03:19
Note that maxima results are always displayed for each object.
03:23
These will differ slightly from the time-varying results unless the maxima occurred exactly at a recorded timestep.
03:32
Use the Replay Control toolbar to explore values at different timesteps.
03:38
Under the replay options you can adjust the period and speed of replay to suit your results.

Required for course completion
Once a simulation has been run, there are several ways to view and work with the results. To complete this exercise, copy the data out of the transportable database .icmt file for this tutorial.
To view simulation results:
The Select Results dialog box offers different ways to view simulation results.
The log report contains information on the input data for the simulation and the performance of the simulation.
The PRN report contains an overview of network results and a summary of the maximum results for nodes and links.
Another way to manage simulation results is with the Results Manager.
The Results management window provides a summary of the results under the model group, including the ID, simulation results size, and location.
This information can be useful to estimate storage needs for a full set of results, to understand why a simulation result cannot be viewed, or to identify simulation results associated with runs.
This menu provides options to move, delete, or re-run simulations— for a selection or individual rows.
