Step-by-step Guide
InfoWorks WS Pro objects can be grouped into selection lists, which can be utilized in the Network GeoPlan and the Results GeoPlan.
To use an existing selection list:
- From the Model Group window, drag and drop BridgeNet into the workspace to open the GeoPlan.
- In the Model Group window, expand Areas.
- Drag and drop the DM404 selection list onto the GeoPlan to highlight and select everything in the demand area.

To create a new selection list:
- From the toolbar, click Clear selection.

- In the toolbar, click Polygon select.

- In the GeoPlan, click to create each vertex of a polygon around the desired selection area.

- Right-click within the GeoPlan and select Selection > Save selection.

- In the Save as dialog box, click Selection Lists.
- In the text box, enter a name for the new selection list, such as “Random”.
- Click Save.

- From the Model Group window, drag and drop the Random selection list into the GeoPlan to select all previously selected objects.
To create a selection of a specific set of objects, such as hydrants:
- Clear the selection.
- In the toolbar, select Grid windows >New nodes window.

- In the Grid dialog box, open the Hydrant tab.
- In the left side margin, click the top row to select the first hydrant.
- On your keyboard, hold SHIFT and in the left-side margin, click the bottom row to select all hydrants.

- Click inside the GeoPlan to verify that all hydrants are selected.
- Right-click within the GeoPlan and select Selection > Save selection.
- In the Save as dialog box, click Selection Lists.
- In the text box, enter the name “Hydrants”.
- Click Save.
The Hydrants selection list is now in the Model Group window.
