In InfoWorks WS Pro, a demand area must be valid before it can be used to update the network or demand diagrams. During validation, the demand area is checked for missing values, errors, and inconsistencies that may affect the flow balance and calculations.
Demand areas generated from area codes or polygons can be validated with the Demand Area grid open. Their status automatically updates in the Validation column. When opening the Demand Area grid, validation is carried out on all demand areas. Any errors are displayed in the validation dialog box.
To review errors listed in the Validation column:
Once all the demand areas are valid, the network and demand diagrams can be updated.
This updates the Specific Consumption values in the Demand Grid on the Node Demand Page with Specific Consumption calculated from Demand Area Analysis.
Validating demand areas and mitigating errors ensures data accuracy and informs decision-making around infrastructure planning and maintenance.
