Site requirements
To use Flow Generative Scheduling, you will need a license for a cloud hosted Flow Production Tracking site.
To use the integration between Flow Production Tracking and Flow Generative Scheduling, your Flow Production Tracking site will need to be hosted.
Local installations of Flow Production Tracking do not support integration with Flow Generative Scheduling.
Task requirements
Each task to be scheduled will require a pipeline step, duration, and dependency.
- In Flow Production Tracking, pipeline steps and artists are both associated with departments. By knowing which pipeline step a task is associated with, Generative Scheduling can assign the correct number of resources from the correct department.
- Duration represents the amount of working time required for a task. Generative Scheduling will optimize a schedule based on how long each task is expected to take. Even a 0-day duration, as in the case of milestones, is acceptable.
- A dependency describes a relationship between two tasks. By using dependencies, Generative Scheduling can ensure that tasks happen in the correct order.
Permission requirements
By default, all users who have a Flow Production Tracking entitlement will also have an entitlement for Generative Scheduling. Admins can remove a user's ability to log into Generative Scheduling by removing their entitlement to Generative Scheduling in https://manage.autodesk.com/.
Even with an entitlement, users can only send schedule scenarios to Flow Production Tracking if they have permission to edit the Proposed Start Date field on the Task entity. Admins can adjust a user's permissions in Flow Production Tracking.
