for this practice exercise.

We'll begin with the supply data set, valve seat assembly dot I am.
00:11
This can be found in the assembly sub folder under the subfolder valve seat.
00:16
We're going to be creating a view representation for a section view of this design.
00:20
Notice that if we expand our representations and expand our view rep,
00:24
we have a default view rep that has a section view
00:27
and our primary view rep which does not,
00:30
we're going to create a new view representation with a section view
00:34
to do this. We're going to right, click on view repp and select new.
00:38
We're gonna call this top section.
00:41
And with that view rep active, we want to create a new section view.
00:45
When we go to our tools under view,
00:48
we can create a new section view by selecting half section.
00:52
When we do this, we need to rotate the model, select a plane
00:56
and pull it down to the appropriate location.
00:59
We want a section view where our valve meets the valve seat,
01:03
we'll select OK.
01:05
And now we've created a section view that allows us
01:07
to go back and forth between a front section,
01:10
a top section
01:11
as well as our primary
01:13
when we rotate this around,
01:14
you'll also note that the model appearance changes with the view representation.
01:19
So with our top section view,
01:21
let's go ahead and change the appearance of the needle.
01:24
We're going to select the default option from the drop down
01:28
and we want to select a brass material. So we'll select brass satin
01:32
and notice it changes the appearance in that view representation.
01:36
Our default section view
01:37
and our primary each view representation can have
01:40
unique appearances for each of our parts.
01:43
So in this case,
01:44
make sure that we do set the appearance of our
01:46
parts to match that of our default front section view
01:50
from here. Let's go ahead and make sure that we do save the assembly before moving on.
