Create Product Lists

Create an Item - Product List – Practice Exercise
Task 1: Edit Item to create a Product List
  1. Right click on the gate valve that we built in the last video and select Create Product List.
  2. Click OK for this change to take effect then it will ask you to Save Item File As, click Save because I don’t want another .itm file. On the Warning Overwrite existing icon’s image click No.
  3. Now we can go back to the item and edit the gate valve and change some of the descriptions.
  4. Click on the Value of Diameter #2 and use the dropdown and set it to Equal.
  5. Set Length #2 to equal Left Length.
  6. Make the Strut Diameter the same as the Shaft Diameter for the Handle. Click the letter N, select the Calculation tab and then click in the Calculation box and select Shaft Diameter for the Handle and then set the Valve to Calc.
  7. Set Collar #2 to equal Collar #1.
  8. Set Collar #3 calculation to “Open Length*0.99”
  9. Set Shaft length #2 calculation to “Pipe Center toTop of Handle - Box Heigth from Center - (Shaft Diameter for Handle*2)”
  10. Unlock every dimension that will be a part of the Product List.
  11. Add the unlocked Dimension fields to the Product list. Click on the Edit Product List. Then click on the New button and add all the unlocked dimensions, and add Order, Weight, Id.
  12. In a blank spreadsheet and add our headers to match the Product List and enter the dimensional data.
  13. Copy the body and go back to the Edit Product List and Right click on or below the green line and Paste. Click OK.
