in this video, you'll learn how to configure print sets.
00:09
You'll also see how to configure export
00:12
settings and export to various file formats.
00:25
A set is simply a collection of views and sheets
00:29
that can be printed or exported.
00:33
There are several places where you can create a set.
00:38
Let's take a look at an example,
00:40
click the file tab and then select export pdf.
00:48
This opens the pdf export dialog.
00:53
Make sure that selected views, sheets is selected and then click the pencil button
00:59
to open the select views sheets. Dialogue.
01:03
This is where you can create new sets
01:06
to create a new set, click create new empty set.
01:12
I'll name this set, all sheets
01:18
and then I'll click OK.
01:21
At this point we can select any view or sheet in the project
01:26
to include in the set.
01:29
If you have several views and sheets, you can use the display filter
01:35
to narrow down the list of views and sheets
01:40
For this example, we just want sheets.
01:43
So we can de select both two D and 3D views.
01:48
Then we can click check all to select all of the sheets.
01:55
Additionally, you can select hide unchecked views sheets
01:59
so that you can see just what you have selected
02:04
once you have the desired views and sheets selected,
02:08
click save current set.
02:12
Additionally, you can click edit print order and then adjust the print order
02:19
of the sheets or views that you have selected.
02:23
You can choose an option at the top browser, organization,
02:27
sheet number or manual order.
02:31
If you select manual order,
02:33
you can then click and drag to adjust the order.
02:40
Once you're satisfied with the order, click OK.
02:44
And then you can click save current set
02:47
if you have made any adjustments
02:50
then with this, the desired set, selected click select
02:56
and now you can see it appear in the list
02:59
but you could always expand that. Drop down and choose another set.
03:04
Now that we have a set,
03:06
we can export it to pdf or even when we're printing, we can select that set and print it
03:13
for.
03:14
Right now, we'll continue with the pdf export and we'll take a look here at the size.
03:20
You can expand the drop down and select a specific size
03:24
or you can just leave it set to use sheet size,
03:28
then I'll leave it set to fit to page and I'll leave the other options as they are.
03:35
But as you can see there are multiple options there to configure your P D F,
03:40
so that it looks just like you wanted to.
03:43
Then once you're satisfied, click export
03:46
and rev it will export all of the views and sheets in your set
03:52
to a pdf file, in the location that you had specified.
03:59
Once the pdf is created,
04:01
you can open the file and take a look at your pdf
04:08
additionally. You can export to cad
04:11
but before you do, you should specify the export settings,
04:17
click the file tab and then select export and scroll to the bottom.
04:24
You can select options, export setups, D W G D X F.
04:31
There are several options when you're exporting to cad
04:36
on the layers tab,
04:38
you can control how the rev it categories get exported to cad layers.
04:46
To begin,
04:46
there's a few dropdowns to help you control this large list of categories and layers
04:53
and you can choose to export category properties by layer and
04:59
then you can control what to do with the overrides.
05:01
You can export the overrides by entity.
05:05
You can choose to not even export the overrides or
05:09
you can choose to create new layers for overrides.
05:14
I'll select that option
05:16
and then you can choose to load layers from standards and there are multiple options
05:23
such as the A I a and I So standard and a few other options
05:29
and you can also load settings from a file as well.
05:36
Additionally, you can control lines,
05:39
patterns, text and fonts, colors,
05:42
and on the solids tab.
05:44
You can control the solids that will be exported for three D views.
05:50
And so if you're exporting to any type of three d cad,
05:53
you definitely want to pay attention to this option and
05:56
compare the file sizes of the cad file that you export
06:02
on the units and coordinates. Tab.
06:04
You can control the coordinate base which can
06:08
either be shared coordinates or internal origin.
06:12
So if you are doing any type of coordination with other disciplines,
06:17
you definitely want to pay attention to the units and coordinates
06:22
and on the general tab you can control the file format that you're exporting to.
06:30
So those are some of the options that you need to pay attention to.
06:33
And obviously there's several more that you can go through in more detail.
06:38
I'll click cancel for now
06:41
and then I'll go back to the file tab and select export.
06:46
If you want to export to cad,
06:48
you can select CAd formats and then choose the
06:51
specific cad format you want to export to.
06:54
You can also export to I F C and create an I
06:59
F C file and you can export to images and animations.
07:05
So if you have and you can export to an image, if you have a walkthrough,
07:09
you can you can export that animation.
07:14
You can also export schedules.
07:17
But in order to export a schedule,
07:19
a schedule must be the active view.
07:23
So if we go to the project browser and open the room schedule,
07:29
we can then go back to the file tab and select export reports,
07:36
schedule.
07:38
And now we can export a C S V file or a text file.
07:45
So I'll select C S V and then click save
07:49
and then we can choose some export schedule options here.
07:52
And I'll just use the default values and click OK.
07:57
And then once again you can open up that file and take a look at what was exported
08:03
when exporting schedules.
08:05
You may need to spend a little bit of time cleaning up that C S V file.
08:10
And then you can even save it as an Excel file and work on it. And Excel.
08:18
Lastly, let's take a look at
08:22
saving a library.
08:25
When you click the file tab, you can select, save as
08:30
library
08:32
and then you can choose family group or view
08:36
if you want to
08:38
save all of your low double families to a specific location, you can click family
08:45
and then you can navigate to a specific location and then you can
08:50
save all of your families or you can choose a specific laudable family
08:58
and choose to export that.
09:00
If you select all families,

09:12
F A files will be saved in that location.
