this is a practice exercise solution for select project location.
00:07
In this exercise we will be specifying the project location
00:12
and to help us better see how the location affects the project. We can enable shadows
00:20
to do that in the view control bar,
00:23
click the shadows button which is right next to the Sun icon.
00:28
And this toggles shadows on and off.
00:34
We can also click the Sun icon and then click Sun settings
00:40
and in the Sun settings dialog we can see that
00:44
still is selected and we can see the project location
00:50
as well as the date and time for the Sun
00:55
position and so that's what is controlling the shadows.
00:60
We'll click OK.
01:01
And then on the manage tab in the project location panel we can click location
01:09
to open the location and site dialog
01:13
here. We can use the internet mapping service or the default city list.
01:20
We'll use the internet mapping service first and
01:24
for the project address we can type Miami
01:30
and then click search
01:33
and when we do we can see that we click it one more time
01:37
and then we can click one of the options that appears in the dialog.
01:43
So I'll click Miami and then we'll use the
01:47
just this default weather station and then click OK.
01:52
And now you can see
01:54
the shadows update in the view.
01:57
And if it gets a little pixel e you can always
01:60
just readjust the view so that it will update for you.
02:05
That's a graphics issue that can occur
02:09
let's go back to the location and site dialogue
02:14
and this time let's switch to the default city list
02:20
and then in the city drop down, we can type S and then look for SAN Francisco
02:28
and select SAN Francisco and then click OK.
02:33
And once again we can see
02:35
the shadows update in the view and we can
02:38
see the difference as we change the project location.
02:44
Let's do that one more time.
02:49
And now you can choose
02:51
your hometown.
02:54
I will select Houston texas
03:03
and then click OK.
