After completing this lesson,
00:03
you will be able to understand transfer project standards,
00:07
transfer war types and transfer view templates.
00:11
The objective domains covered are 2.1 D transfer system,
00:15
family files between projects
00:17
and 5.4 A transfer and review project standards.
00:23
You can copy standards from one project to another with project standards.
00:27
This is useful when transferring system family files and project settings that
00:31
you may have used on previous projects to a new project.
00:35
Some of the items that you can transfer are shown below
00:38
system family types,
00:40
global parameters, line weights materials, view templates and object styles,
00:46
annotation styles, color field schemes and field patterns and print settings.
00:52
Go ahead and open up the model 041 transfer in project standards.
00:57
The model opens in a 3d view.
01:01
In this particular model,
01:02
you can see that we have a number of different system families set up.
01:06
So here we have some basic wall styles already configured
01:09
as well as some ceilings, roofs, floors and so on.
01:14
Our intention here is to copy some of these
01:16
war styles from this project into a new project.
01:20
So let's start by creating our new project.
01:24
Click file,
01:26
then you
01:27
and then project
01:30
in the new project dialogue box. Let's select structural templates
01:34
and then click. OK.
01:38
So our new project has now been started
01:41
to begin the process of transferring project standards, select the manage ribbon
01:48
and then select transfer project standards
01:53
in the select items to copy dialog box.
01:55
You'll notice here that we could select the file that we're copying from.
01:59
There are only two files open. So consequently, we've only got one choice here.
02:02
But of course, we could have several models open in rev.
02:05
It, therefore, we'd need to select the correct one to copy from
02:10
what we're then seeing is the various different
02:12
styles and standards listed in the dialogue box.
02:16
I'm going to begin by checking none.
02:19
And then we'll select war types.
02:23
Let's go ahead and select, ok,
02:26
here rev, it's detected that we've already got certain war types set up.
02:30
So I'm going to say here new only.
02:36
Ok. So you can see that we've got some warnings down here.
02:38
So rev, it's just informing us that we've already got a family called En
02:42
Reveal
02:42
Brick
02:43
Course. So it's just renamed that to uh En
02:45
Reveal
02:45
Brick course one.
02:47
And of course, we've got another uh warning in here as well about a conflict,
02:50
but rev it will just rename those with a sequential number.
02:55
So let's now take a look in our new project. If we open up the family's folder
03:01
and then we open up walls
03:02
and then basic wall,
03:04
we can now see all of those new styles of wall have been copied through.
03:12
Next, we transfer some view templates
03:14
on the manage ribbon. Again, select transfer project standards
03:20
in the select items to copy dialog box check none.
03:25
And here we'll see view templates.
03:29
Let's go ahead and select. OK?
03:32
And again,
03:33
here you can see that we've got some duplicate types set up but they are different.
03:36
So in this case, we're gonna overwrite all of these types.
03:41
OK? And now if we select view
03:44
and view templates
03:46
and we manage the view templates,
03:49
we can now see in the view templates,
03:50
dialogue box that we've successfully copied all of
03:53
our view templates across into this active project.
03:57
This can be very useful when previous projects have been created
04:00
and you want to emulate the styles from that previous project,
04:04
go ahead and select, OK?
00:02
