PRESENTER: In this session, we'll
00:01
walk through the specific steps for installing and uninstalling
00:04
packages inside Dynamo for Civil 3D.
00:07
As newer versions of Dynamo and Civil 3D are released,
00:10
it's important to take note to which packages will work,
00:12
and once installed, where you can access the nodes
00:15
inside the specific package.
00:18
We are now in the second step in the workflow,
00:20
Installing an Un-Instaliing packages inside Dynamo.
00:23
Let's switch over to dynamo and get started.
00:26
I have already accessed the dynamo interface
00:28
by clicking on the Manage tab, Visual Programming panel,
00:32
and clicking on the Dynamo icon.
00:35
I have also already begun my search for packages
00:38
and have decided to install the latest version of the Civil 3D
00:41
toolkit.
00:42
Left click on the arrow to download.
00:45
Click OK to continue.
00:48
The civil 3D toolkit has now been installed.
00:51
You can clear the notifications, exit out of the search window,
00:56
and start a new Dynamo script.
00:60
You'll notice, on the left hand side of the library,
01:02
we have an Add-ons section in the Dynamo library.
01:06
Underneath Autodesk, Civil 3D toolkit,
01:09
I can find the nodes that are associated with the package I
01:11
just installed.
01:15
It's important to note that with newer releases of Dynamo
01:18
in the application, some packages are created based
01:21
on newer versions of Dynamo.
01:23
I am in Civil 3D
01:25
to install another package for sheet set manager.
01:28
Go to packages, search for a package, and type in,
01:32
sheet set manager.
01:37
I expand the package to look at the details.
01:40
I see the developer has added a keyword of 2021,
01:43
but will install to watch the notifications.
01:46
Once I click install, Dynamo provides me
01:49
with a few notifications.
01:51
I will click OK to install the latest version.
01:54
I will click OK to accept that this package contains
01:58
Python scripts.
01:59
And the last notification is to inform me
02:02
that the nodes inside this package
02:04
were created using a newer version.
02:07
I click OK, it shows it downloaded,
02:11
and I can now see the sheet set manager package
02:13
under the Add-on category in the Dynamo library.
02:17
Be careful when using nodes for newer versions
02:19
as you may experience unintended errors in your graph.
02:23
To uninstall a package, under the Package menu,
02:27
click Manage Packages.
02:30
In the Installed Packages dialog box
02:32
click the ellipses on the right to display several options
02:35
including Uninstall.
02:38
Once you click Uninstall, a notification making you aware
02:41
that Dynamo and Civil
02:43
restart before the uninstall takes effect.
02:46
Click OK and Yes, close out of Dynamo and Civil
03:08
Once you relaunch Dynamo, you'll notice that
03:11
under managed packages, the package has now been removed,
03:14
as well as under the Add-ons category in the Dynamo library.
