In this video, you are introduced to Vault lifecycle administration and to the benefits of using lifecycle definitions in Vault.
Transcript
00:05
This is the workflow overview for the module.
00:08
The first task is introducing you to Vault Lifecycle Administration.
00:16
In order to perform Lifecycle Administration,
00:19
you need to log in as an administrator.
00:22
You then select Vault settings under the Tools, Administration menu
00:29
and from the behaviors tab you select the Lifecycles button,
00:37
the Lifecycles definitions,
00:39
dialog box displays to view the existing Lifecycle definitions.
00:47
Lifecycle definitions can be configured to represent a design process.
00:53
For example,
00:54
states identify the objects Lifecycle such as
00:57
work in progress for review and released
01:01
and streamlined behaviors.
01:03
For example, define a design state order and
01:06
who is allowed to transfer data to states.
01:10
Yeah.
01:12
Lifecycle definitions can also be configured to establish security concepts.
01:18
For example, who is allowed to read to modify or to
01:22
delete data in what design state and trigger automated actions.
01:28
For example, creation of 2D PDF deliverables.
01:37
Lifecycle definitions can also be configured
01:39
to manage false version purge behavior
01:42
per Lifecycle definition state.
01:48
Here we see the example of Lifecycle states progressing from a
01:52
work in progress state all the way through to the obsolete state.
02:01
Details of each Lifecycle state are shown here.
02:05
For example, a work in progress state allows designers read,
02:09
write, delete permissions,
02:10
whereas a released state only allows for read permissions.
