In this exercise, we will be applying the Datum Reference Frame to Tolerance Features.
00:16
So on this part, we've already defined three Tolerance Features. Datum A - our primary datum, datum B - our secondary,
00:24
and datum C - our tertiary.
00:27
In the Tolerance Features folder, you'll see these reference frames listed here.
00:33
In the Tolerance Advisor, you'll see datum reference frame A, B, C that DRF is not referenced.
00:40
So once you've established multiple datums, you can then use that as a reference frame for additional Tolerance Features.
00:48
So if I create a new Tolerance Feature and I choose this whole pattern along the top, and then hit the check mark,
00:55
I can then define a new Tolerance Feature for these 0.27 inch holes.
01:01
There's eight of them, and you can see that it's given a positional tolerance here relative to A, B and C.
01:10
If I double-click on this datum reference frame A, B, C from the feature,
01:16
I can then choose if I only want it to reference A and B.
01:21
So if I don't need C to be established during that inspection, I can specify that.
01:27
You'll notice you can also create a new DRF right here.
01:32
Or if you select "DRF" from the top ribbon, that will also activate the new DRF command.
01:40
So if I click "New DRF,"
01:44
I can then establish a new reference frame where maybe I decide that my secondary datum is going to be datum C.
01:51
To do that, my "Primary" will still be A, my "Secondary" will be C, my "Tertiary" will be B.
01:60
You can also specify if any of these are going to have a max material boundary.
02:06
Then you can select "OK" to confirm the new reference frame A, C, B.
02:13
I'll then hit the "Check" mark to confirm that feature control frame.
02:17
So you'll notice now in my Tolerance Features folder, I have my A, B, C reference frame and the A, C, B reference frame that I just created.
