In Revit, you can add reinforcement elements, such as rebar, to your model.

With the Sketch placement option, you can use common sketch tools to manually place rebar shapes within a valid host.

To get started, open the Section 1 view, which cuts through the floor and a beam.

On the Structure ribbon, in the Reinforcement panel, click Rebar to activate the Structural Rebar tool.

On the Modify | Place Rebar contextual tab, in the Placement Methods panel, select Sketch.

In the model, click the beam you want to host the rebar.

Then, from the Modify | Create Rebar Sketch contextual tab,

use the tools in the Draw panel to sketch the shape you want your rebar to be in the drawing area.

When you are finished, on the ribbon, click Finish Edit Mode to accept the sketch and place the new shape.

If you make a mistake, you can always change the rebar size in the Properties palette.
