Hello and welcome to our easy guide on mastering your VR controllers for an amazing experience
00:06
in Autodesk's workshop XR.
00:08
Let's dive in.
00:10
On every controller you'll find triggers, thumb sticks, grip buttons, and more.
00:16
Plus, you can switch the controller to match your dominant hand in settings.
00:21
With your trigger, think of it as your magic wand or select button.
00:25
It's your go to tool for adding issues during a design review
00:29
and interacting with elements within the space.
00:32
Let's talk about the thumb sticks.
00:34
Remember, if you switch to your dominant hand,
00:37
these controls will swap too.
00:40
Your left-hand thumb stick is all about smooth motion,
00:44
glide back and forth as easy as can be.
00:47
By default, there's a dark vignette for comfort,
00:50
but you can switch it off in the settings if you prefer.
00:54
Your right-hand thumb stick is your teleportation and rotation tool.
00:59
Push forward to zip around the workshop or your model
01:02
and tap left or right for incremental turning,
01:05
perfect for those who are new to VR.
01:07
Next, we have the grab button.
01:10
The grab button lets you easily move the core menu and console around.
01:15
Your grab buttons also give you multiple options for manipulating the model on the table.
01:20
For instance, if I press both grab buttons at the same time while pointing at the model,
01:26
I can adjust the scale by opening my hands and closing them.
01:33
I also can twist the model around,
01:36
and manipulate the model in 3D space,
01:40
meaning I can also place it above or below me.
01:45
I can also adjust the model with one hand
01:49
but, I don't have the option to spin it when I do so.
01:52
Want to try different angles?
01:54
The fly up and fly down buttons on your right hand are your best friends.
01:58
Hold them down for smooth, continuous flying; adjust the distance and settings for a comfy movement.
02:04
Here's a cool trick, twist your left hand towards you to reveal a clock.
02:09
Prefer a 24-hour format? No problem.
02:12
Just change it in the settings
02:15
On your right controller, there's a button that brings up your meta quest menu,
02:19
just like this.
02:21
And on the left, you'll find various tools in the console opener.
02:26
If you've switched your dominant hand, these will swap too.
02:30
Thank you for watching our guide to controllers.
