We're now going to use the grading creation tools to edit our grading groups.
00:09
We've created grading groups for each of our house slabs.
00:14
If I review the grading surface for house seven,
00:18
you can see that it has created a surface across the whole of the slab
00:23
including a margin around it.
00:27
However,
00:28
if I review has four,
00:30
we can see that there is a hole where the foundation slab should be.
00:35
We need to fix this by adding some grading to the group
00:40
from the home tab create design panel,
00:43
click on grading and select the grading creation tools
00:48
in the tool bar. Ensure the site is set to house plots
00:51
and set the group to house four
00:55
from the crate grading, pull down slit crate infill
01:01
in the model. Pick a point in the middle of the house floor slab,
01:05
you'll see that it places a grading marker in the center of the area
01:09
to show that grading has been created.
01:13
Now, if we review the house for surface,
01:16
we can see that it is filled in the area of upgrading feature light.
01:23
Now let's review the pond grading
01:26
looking at the pond contours. We can see that they overlap the road surface.
01:31
Clearly, we need to make sure the pond grading doesn't interfere with the road.
01:37
We can do this by editing the gradient of the embankment nearest the road,
01:42
open the grading creation tools and set the sight to balancing pond
01:46
and the grading group to pond.
01:49
Click on the edit grading, pull down and select delete grading
01:55
in the model. Pick a point in the outside embankment grading to delete it
02:02
from the grading criteria. Choose grade to surface
02:06
and then click on great grading.
02:10
Pick the outside grading feature line
02:14
on the command line for apply to entire length slate. Note
02:19
it will then prompt for a start point.
02:22
Select a point on the embankment area at the south east corner as shown
02:26
and press enter to accept the station value,
02:29
then move to the west side of the pond and pick a similar position and press
02:36
for the cut format. Select slope
02:39
then type three for a one in three slope.
02:43
Repeat this for the fill format.
02:46
You'll see a fan shape of grading has been created on the north side of the pond
02:51
from the tool bar, select crate grading again
02:54
and picked the same feature line
02:57
for the start point. Pick the end of the southern straight segment on the left
03:01
and press enter,
03:04
pick the other end of the strait for the end point,
03:09
set the cup format to slope
03:11
and enter two for a one in two slope
03:15
then repeat this for the fill format.
03:18
Now, we need to fill in the gaps between these two gradings
03:23
on the crate grading, pull down s select crate transition,
03:28
pick the feature line again. And then for the location,
03:32
pick a point between the two gratings.
03:35
This will create a transition between the one in three and one in two slopes.
03:40
Repeat this for the other side of the pond
03:44
for us escape to end the command and update the grading.
03:48
Now,
03:48
review the pond surface in the object viewer to see the result of the grading edits.
03:54
From this example,
03:56
we can see that the grading group is made up of
03:57
individual gradings that we can adjust to suit our design constraints.
04:03
Editing a grading updates the entire grading group.
