00:03
We have created feature lines for our house positions and set their elevations.
00:09
We have also added feature lines from the adjacent road corridors
00:14
at the back of the highway boundaries.
00:19
Additional feature lines have been added to enable us to control the site levels
00:23
and we can use these to modify the grades if we need to.
00:28
We're going to create a surface from these features that
00:30
we can then add to a finished ground model.
00:33
We can use the finished ground model to
00:36
design our drainage and utilities for the site
00:40
in prospector. Right, click on the surfaces collection and choose create surface.
00:45
We'll call this surface plot grading
00:49
for the surface style,
00:51
use contours, 1 ft and 5 ft design,
00:56
expand the surfaces collection
00:58
and expand the plot grading surface and its definition.
01:03
We want to add our feature lines to the surface as brake lines
01:07
but picking them in the drawing is tedious.
01:11
The feature lines all belong to the house plots site.
01:15
So expand the site,
01:16
select feature lines and right click
01:21
on the right click menu. There are two select options.
01:24
Use the first one to select all of the feature lines in the site,
01:29
scroll back up to the plot grading surface
01:31
and right click on brake lines and choose at
01:35
these will be standard brake lines as they're in 3d.
01:39
We don't need to weed or supplement the vertices on these brake lines.
01:43
Click OK. To add them to the surface.
01:47
You can see in the model that the surface has been created.
01:51
If we look at this in the object viewer,
01:53
you can see the surface is very flat and quite even
01:56
with no major changes in great.
02:01
We're now ready to create our finished ground surface.
02:06
We'll want to add our pond,
02:08
our road top surfaces
02:10
and our new house plot surface
02:15
in prospector select the surfaces collection
02:18
right click and choose create surface
02:23
name the surface finished ground,
02:27
use the style contours, 1 ft and 5 ft design and click. OK.
02:33
Expand the surface and its definition
02:36
right? Click on edits and choose paste surface.
02:40
We'll start by adding the existing ground.
02:43
Our design surfaces will be added on top of this,
02:48
repeat the pace surface command.
02:49
But this time select all the corridor top surfaces.
02:53
These represent the finish levels of our roads
02:57
finally paste in the pond and plot grading surfaces,
03:05
select the new finish ground surface and review it using the object viewer.
03:09
The resulting surface is the same as the existing ground
03:12
except where our design surfaces have been pasted over it.
03:19
We'll want to use the finished ground surface in other models to design upon.
03:23
So we'll create a data shortcut for it in our project.
03:28
In prospector,
03:29
select data shortcuts,
03:31
right click and choose create data shortcuts,
03:35
select the finish ground surface and click. OK.
03:41
Save the sight grading drawing and then create a new drawing
03:46
use save as
03:47
and save the new drawing
03:49
in the project design models. Folder
03:53
name the drawing, drainage desire
03:55
from the data shortcuts in prospector expand the surfaces collection
03:60
and select the finish ground surface
04:03
right. Click on it and choose create reference,
04:07
change the style of the reference surface to contour's 1 ft and 5 ft background.
04:13
Use zoom extents to see the surface.
04:18
We have now completed our site grading and have a finished ground model
04:22
that we can use to design our drainage and utilities.
