Step-by-step:

Once you have set up a modeling project and configured the project settings, you can add features such as pumps to the system and digitize them. In this exercise, you will digitize pump stations and a reservoir for your model.

  1. With a modeling project set up and project settings configured, in ArcGIS Pro, on the ribbon, InfoWater Pro tab, Contents pane, locate Valve.

  2. Right-click, and from the shortcut menu, select Label.
  3. Zoom into the model where the water treatment plant is to be placed.
  4. On the InfoWater Pro ribbon, Edit panel, select Edit > Delete Node.

  5. In the map, use a selection box to select a node and delete it.
  6. In the Confirmation dialog box, click OK.

  7. Delete three nodes following this process.
  8. From the InfoWater Pro ribbon, Edit panel, select Insert > Pump.
  9. In the map, hover your cursor over the pipes until the snapping tool indicates you are at a pipe endpoint.
  10. Click to place the pipe.

When you are asked if you wish to insert a pump into the pipe, you need to choose No because you do not want to split the pipe, as the pumps need to be placed on the ends of the pipes. Choosing No ensures that the pumps are added adjacent to the pipe without splitting it. If you accidentally select Yes, you will see a Could not split the pipe warning; in this case, you can repeat the pump insertion step. Then, in the New Pump Information dialog box, accept the default ID and Description, which were set in the project preferences.

  1. In the Question dialog box, click No to add the pumps adjacent to the pipe instead of splitting the pipe.
A screenshot of the map with a Pipe Endpoint placed, the Question dialog box is displayed, and No is selected
  2. In the Information dialog box, click OK to accept the default ID and description.
  3. Insert another pump using the same process as before.
  4. From the InfoWater Pro ribbon, Edit panel, select Insert > Reservoir.
  5. In the map, hover the cursor until the snapping tool indicates you are at a pipe endpoint.
  6. Click to place the reservoir.
  7. In the Question dialog box, click No.
  8. In the Information dialog box, click OK to accept the default ID and description.
