Next, we'll look at the id and list commands.
00:08
Both can be useful in any drawing, but we'll go ahead and use them in the yard layout.
00:12
Drawing.
00:14
The ID command can be accessed either by typing in ID or by going to the home tab
00:21
on the utilities panel,
00:25
clicking the drop down and selecting id point.
00:30
So let's say for example,
00:31
I needed to find the coordinate values or spatial values for the fence line.
00:38
For the future pool area.
00:41
I can type in ID,
00:45
grab the end point of the fence here
00:48
and instantly on the command line.
00:51
It echoes back the X,
00:53
the Y
00:54
and the Z values.
00:57
So for
00:58
civil projects,
01:00
the X and Y coordinates can be valuable information because
01:05
these are what they call eastern and northern coordinate values.
01:09
These can be extremely useful when creating or constructing objects on a project.
01:17
Now let's look at the list command.
01:19
This command is useful for listing all of
01:22
the properties of a selected element in autocad.
01:25
You can access the command either by typing L I enter or go to the home tab
01:33
then properties
01:35
and you can access the list command from the properties pull down.
01:41
So if I were to type in L I enter
01:45
and then let's select that yard area that we just created for grass.
01:51
Once I right, click after selecting the object, the command line reports,
01:56
what type of object it is,
01:59
the layer that it's on?
02:01
In this case, with it being a poly line, I can see the area and the perimeter.
02:06
And then it also shows the data for each point for the X, the Y
02:12
and the Z values.
