Now we'll take a look at some of the
00:06
inquiry commands and autocad such as the quick measure,
00:10
we're gonna pick the backyard grass area again
00:14
and I'm gonna come to the home tab over to the utilities panel.
00:18
And when I click the measure drop down, I'm gonna select quick.
00:23
What's cool about this command is all I have to do is hover
00:26
in an area
00:28
and notice it's giving me the dimensions for that particular
00:33
object.
00:35
Let's take a look at another one. If I hover over the house, you can see the
00:40
measures across at 50 ft and it measures deep at 30 ft.
00:46
Another thing that we can do with the
00:49
quick measure command
00:51
notice in corners, it shows the angle
00:55
anywhere. There's a perfect 90. It just shows a squared off symbol.
01:02
And when you have a closed poly line, like either the yard area or
01:08
the pool area
01:11
you can press and hold
01:16
and then it will fill in
01:18
and show you the area and the parameter for that closed poly line.
01:25
And just like that, that's how the quick measure command works.
01:29
One thing to note here with the quick measure command,
01:33
you can also select several areas at the same time with control and deselect them.
01:39
Again,
01:40
if we take a look at the drop down under the measure button,
01:46
we also have the regular distance,
01:48
which you could find a distance from endpoint to endpoint.
01:53
And it echoes that information back on the command line.
01:57
And also notice
01:59
the other commands available for radius
02:02
angle
02:03
area,
02:05
volume,
02:06
quick
02:07
mode
02:08
and exit. These are all the same buttons that we have available over here as well.
02:14
Each of these are considered an inquiry command
02:18
and will report the properties of
02:21
the objects data back to the command line.
02:26
As you can see dynamic input selection, cycling
02:30
and inquiry commands such as quick measure,
02:33
give you great functionality that is easy to use
02:37
to make you more productive on any design project.
