In this tutorial will insert edges,
00:06
sculpt and bridge freeform bodies to create the sore handle casing.
00:10
After completing this tutorial,
00:12
you'll be able to use fusion sculpt workspace to insert edges of T
00:15
blind forms, add material, bridge and weld and join freeform bodies.
00:21
We'll begin the free form modeling by extending the cylinder length downwards,
00:25
double click, the lowest edge on the cylinder, click, modify edit form,
00:30
then extend the length of the cylinder downwards a little.
00:33
Now select these two edges only.
00:35
You can hold down the shift button on the keyboard to select multiple edges.
00:40
Now with alt pressed on your keyboard,
00:42
use the manipulators to click and drag more
00:45
material along the lower length of the handle.
00:48
The aim here is to follow the curve of the handle
00:51
and meet up with our other freeform body.
00:54
We'll then be able to join both freeform bodies using modified bridge infusion.
00:59
Once the cylinder is sculpted into this position,
01:02
we can turn our attention to the other freeform body.
01:05
Click for a front view,
01:07
then double click the bottom edge
01:08
and drag the length of the body down just a little bit further to here. Then click OK.
01:14
And close the edit form dialogue.
01:16
In order to bridge these two bodies, I need to create an extra edge, select the edge.
01:21
Then in the toolbar click modify insert edge
01:25
and now gonna select the inside edge and move it inwards a little in order to line up
01:30
my two edges on this body with the two edges on the cylinder body ready for the bridge.
01:36
And when I've done this, I click OK to confirm the new position.
01:40
And then in the toolbar,
01:41
I click, modify bridge to create the bridge
01:45
to create the bridge. We need to select two equal sets of edges.
01:49
So I select these two edges for side one
01:52
and these two edges for side two,
01:55
I can click for a preview
01:57
and then I ensure I enter the value one for the number of faces.
02:01
When I've done this, I click. OK.
02:03
And fusion will bridge the two freeform bodies together.
02:06
I'll now double click the lowest edge on the new freeform body.
02:10
And then use the modify edit form tools to
02:13
sculpt the body to match the reference image.
02:15
Using the manipulation tools I can select individual edges,
02:19
points and faces and sculpt the freeform body to match the reference image.
02:25
When this is done. Click front in the view cube,
02:28
double click the top edge of the cylinder
02:31
with the alt key pressed.
02:33
Use the manipulators to drag another face upwards to about here.
02:36
Remember to twist the final face following the
02:39
bend in the handle of the reference image.
02:42
Now repeat this process.
02:44
Adding another two sets of faces along the length of the cylinder,
02:48
use the manipulation tools to twist shrink pull,
02:52
push and sculpt the form using the attached canvas image
02:55
as reference until your form looks something like this.
03:00
Now double click to select the top edge here, holding alt on the keyboard,
03:05
create another face and finish it about here.
03:08
We're now gonna create another bridge to join the top of the part.
03:12
So click, OK? To confirm the edits,
03:15
click, modify insert edge, click this edge on the body and then click OK.
03:20
To confirm the new edge
03:22
to create the bridge, click modify bridge,
03:25
select the two edges on the first side that you want to bridge,
03:28
then the two edges on the second side then click. OK.
03:33
Now use the edit tools to make any final modifications to the current form.
03:41
And when you've done this zoom closer into this area
03:45
and select these three edges,
03:47
we're going to add a few more faces to the top
03:49
of the handle casing and then we'll weld these together,
03:52
click, modify edit form.
03:55
Now create three new sets of faces across the top of the casing.
03:60
Click. OK? To confirm the edit
04:02
and in the toolbar, click modify
04:05
weld vertices,
04:06
either drag a selection window around the vertices to weld
04:10
or select them individually.
04:13
Then just click OK to confirm the world.
04:16
Now you should use the edit form tools to make
04:19
any final alterations to the free form handle casing.
